would just like to add my 2 cents.

I've had the phone for 2 weeks and this has happened twice i believe.  Definitley happened once.  Restarted the phone like i read about on here, and after the phone was restarted the text went through instantly. 

Only thing different from my issue was that I only had about 30-40 texts all together stored on my phone..

what gives?

Dont be so excited with the caps please. I didnt think the firmware had anything to do with it. As I stated before. If you have the texting issue please contact ATT. The more that contact them the quicker this will get fixxed.

Just curious. Trying to figure this out. People that have the texting issue.....Do you have an unlimited data plan also? And how many bars do you have in your area? By chance during the day does it ever go to no bars?  And I am not talking about 3G. 3G has nothing to do with texting.

i think i might have this thing and i have the new one so im gonna see if it does it again, and if so, i'll call them. ive only had this for a week or to, and today i tried sending a message and it took forever, so i turned it off, turned it back on, and it sent. o.O but i haven't had any troubles besides that Smiley

I have this firmware and it still happens to me.
So do I. The oddest thing about it is that while it's "sending" a text that gets locked up, I can send texts to other people and they go through. Just not the text that gets "caught" for whatever reason. I really need to find the time to call ATT. Tried once, waited on hold for 45 minutes and had to bolt. Guess I'm just putting of that hold time...

Exactly. Thats why I dont think it is a problem with the phone. ATT loses your text message somehow. Same thing that happened to me with my internet connection when I first got my phone.  Tell them you read on a forum that they need to take you out of their network and put you back in. I know it sounds like bullshit but it might work.

joined for just this problem actually. it seems when ever i get this bug the bars on my phone go from 1ish to 3-4. and this bugs persist until  the phone is restarted. i drive 100 miles to goto school and have had this bug when i left and was still there when i got to school.

size of the text is irrelevant. how many text you have is irrelevant but i have never had it happen with a completely empty inbox/outbox. however clearing it out does not resolve the bug.

i have gone though two impressions and both had this bug. i will be going to get a new sim card tomorrow to see if this fixes the problem as it is the only common factor i can see since i have gonna though different locations, phones, and size of texts.

I am going to go through my story again. Hoping that someone tries to get ATT to do this for them and make attempt to stop the texting bug.

When I first got my phone I was going fishing alot. And where I fished there was a very faint data signal. Somedays nothing at all. But anyways after leaving fishing and coming home to a 3G area I was unable to log onto the internet. I had a full signal but it would just hang forever. Sound familiar.  If I would reboot my phone all would be fine.

This was happening about once a day. Not 100% positive if it had anything to do with going to an area with no signal or not.

So I read on the net about someone having a similiar problem. And this is how he fixxed it. He called ATT and got through with their tech support.  Seems they removed him from the server and then put him back in and all was fine again.

I contacted ATT about my problem. Got a tech rep on the phone. And went through the story.  He said he would do the same thing for me. He made me pull my battery while phone was on. He then said he took me offline and then put my service back on and hoped that would fixx my problem. Gave me a service ticket number to call back with and the problem would be looked into. I NEVER had that issue again. And it originally happened everyday for a month.  I wasnt doing alot of texting at the time so I dont know if my texting was doing the same thing.

This issue sounds very familiar to your texting bug. I am not familiar with what could be causing this issue.  But I dont believe it is actually the phone itself.  I am on my second impression and I DO NOT have the texting bug.  Alot of impression owners do not have the texting bug.  Maybe ATT is giving a limited bandwith.  Or maybe they are giving us a signal  that doesnt reset properly when you leave a signal area and return. Who knows....maybe it is ATT's way of trying to limit the number of texts going through their system.

But this is why I ask everyone with the bug to read this. Please contact ATT and ask them to do the same thing. Hopefully we can find a resolution to this issue.  But everyone has to contact ATT when they have this issue and try to get it fixxed. Its obviously getting a new phone doesnt fix this issue. Many have tried. So it either has to be with your connection with ATT or even possibly your sim.  We have to work with ATT to let them know of this issue and get the correct resolution.

well, i have never had this problem.  However, I reboot daily and clear out my messages at about 100 (200 if you include sent and received).  Ive had the phone about 2 months.

I also ask those with the problem.....have you deleted your sent messages? Some people tend to forget those and just delete inbox.

this dosent happen to me... whenever it cant send a text... it cant sent a text to anyone at all...

Make sure you are hitting delete all in the sent messages as this is different than the inbox. That is probably what you meant. Just making sure.
