UPDATE: I was put through to the office of the president of AT&T and spoke with a very nice woman who said she would have one of her specialists call me within the next 24 hours to work with me one on one to resolve the issue.  During this call, I scored their direct number!  It is 1(800) 498-1912.  Tell them about the issue, and if we get enough people to call this specific office, the problem will be fixed.  Make sure to tell them that you have already spoken with tech support, even if you have not.

Just now been reading on and catching up on this forum, I didn't realize so many people have a this problem....but mine phone isn't just texting. It does some weird stuff sometimes, like frezees up. Once in a while I'll go click on my contact just get a locked screen that turns pink. It happen so rarely that it doesn't bother me too much, I just restart the phone and it works again.

Oh good, so I'm not the only one. (I mean not good, but ya know) I have had that pink flashing screen too.  Once it stayed on for a solid 5 seconds.  I have noticed it a couple times when I receive a message and slide open the phone at the exact same time.  It also seems to happen occasionally right before I get the text bug. So idk, i have yet to call AT&T again.  But I will soon and let y'all know how it goes down.

UPDATE: I have called AT&T and they offered me a replacement pretty much just to shut me up.  I have agreed, so I will let you all know if my issue is fixed.  If anyone is going to call AT&T in regards to this, call the office of the president:  1(800) 498-1912.  Ask for KEVIN HICKS.  Tell him about this problem.  He is the representative helping me.  This will make the issue widely known with one person, giving it better chances of being fixed.  Once you ask for him, you should have no problem getting through.  If he does not pick up, leave him a message with your phone number.

Do you think this could be a good person to start by sending all the facts from this thread to?

Sending him the list of the amount of people on this forum that have the issue compared to those that don't. Maybe it will wake them up of the seriousness of this issue. I put it all in an email and was going to call ATT to see who I can send this to that will actually read it.

Yes.  I believe this would be a great idea.  His name is Kevin Hicks, he is a specialist for AT&T's office of the president.  Call and get his email.  When you call ask for him, he will probably not be there now, but definitely leave a message.  If someone picks up, just ask for his email.  If no one picks up, call and press 1 when it asks you for an extension.  His extension is: 47144.

Has anyone had their SIM card replaced?  A tech told me getting a new SIM might do the trick.  I got a new one on Wednesday and have yet to experience the problem again (I used to get it about once a day, so fingers crossed its gone).

About changing SIM cards and phones AT&T told me this
Quote
Att: Yes, sir, I am sorry, we have tried exchanging the phones and the SIM cards and they all continue to do the same thing. You will just have to power it off and back on when this happens.

Call the office of the president and ask for KEVIN HICKS.  Their number is 1(800) 498-1921.  You can call and ask for him, or you can dial his extension which is 47144.  Tell him that costumer service told you this.
