I am trying this *#0523#. and changing state to GSM mode as of Feb 12, I will post back in week or 2 to let you know if this works cause my impression would do this at lest 2 times week, Long as I can receive Phone calls make them and play Dinner dash text with no problems I be all for this this fix

I am still having the issue as well. It does seem like it helps though because it happens less often, about every 3 days instead of about twice a day. Even turning on and off airplane mode does nothing to help. I cannot delete any text messages and pressing the shortcut button does not do anything right now. I tried changing the state again and still nothing.

Yea i noticed that putting it on GSM only from the admin menu makes it happen less ofter. Plus it gets better signal Cheesy

Hmm, maybe there's two things that cause the bug, and the GSM only fixes one of them? It's weird because mine has been working perfectly since I made it GSM only.

I too did the GSM only and like the others of you I have noticed that it occurs less. It still occurs but maybe about every 2 days instead of everyday when I had it on the other setting. Hope this information helps. Would be nice to have it fixed  Wink

Well people I have some sort of the same issue with my HD2. Many have exactly the same issue. There are too many bands and the phone gets confused. It definitely has something to do with this. It sets idle in one band to conserve energy then depending if you connect to the internet or send an sms it switches. And here is where it gets stuck.

Yes, I'm positive I followed all directions correctly. I even took it a step further and restored the original settings and followed the steps again and I do still have the problem. A couple people mentioned that it happens less, I don't see any improvement.

for all the people who say it happens less frequently if you restart your phone like your supposed to every night..(props to agoattamer Smiley ) will this problem be fixed or is the three days without the problem with restarting your phone every night

Hmm, I turn off my phone at nights and keep the messages below 100 and the code worked for me... I forgot to mention that.

seems like this bug will never be solved, decided to go for the mythic, but if the bug is solved in the next thirty days i will return and get this phone

 it did the send fail once so far since i changed  it to GSM, I want to say it less frequent but i cant be sure it only been a few days

Well u know what if i restart my phone twice a day guess what??! omg text bug! so yea... doing what im supposed to dosent really help there huh??

it is less frequent but still there, I emails samung about this and they gave me canned response of "we dont know when and if this will be address"

I've also been doing the limbo since I got my impression a month and a half ago.  I've done all the "patches" suggested but to no avail.  One thing I noticed tonight while it was limboing was the backlight came on when a text was received, it just didn't tell me i had a text until i reset the phone.  I sorta think that means that the phone realized it was being told something, but there was a bad transfer. Hopefully someday can figure something out.

I did fix the issue with my HD2. It seems on it the sms messages were being sent via gprs(voice).  I was able to change the settings for text to gms(data). I havent had the text bug on it for a week after 2 weeks of hell. I am going to look around in the settings to see if there is a way to change sms to gms on the impression. Seems mms messages are already sent via gsm already.  I will update if I find something.

Right now for those having the issue check you sms center address.
menu/messaging/messaging settings/text message/text message center/sms settings

My Center address is +13123149810 
Anyone having the issue have a different center? If you do write it down and try this one.
