It doesnt, the have locked the GPS on this phone, so that only the ATT navigator will work with it.

Navaigator is not the only program that works with the GPS. Where.com(costly and not that great) and yellowpages.com work with it. And so should the gps metadata. I have google earth installed and ExifPro and niether sees any gps data.

I stood outside watching the flashing satellite symbol on the phones camera for 5 minutes making sure it connected. Then snapped some pics. But none of them have the location in the metadata.

Maybe someone else has figured on how to get this to work.

Sorry was tired, forgot to mention those.

I think those are the only ones that do grab the GPS, maybe they do it differently, I dont the eternity as a locked GPS, so it stand to reason that this would as well

If I could find a way to make programs like amaze gps signed with a cingular certificate there is a chance that they might work too.

But the gps on pics is supposed to work if you have location turned on in settings according to ATT but I have yet to see it get written in the metadata of the pic.

I think for us to get stuff like that to work for us, and to give us all the features we know this phone is capable of...we will need some of those hackers to turn their attention towards our phone and take out all the restrictions those greedy ATT douches lol made for us.

No, I installed 2 programs supposed to read the metadata off of the pics but there was no coordinates. I dont know if there was something I was supposed to do first like maybe run navigator or something to find the satellites first. Im thinking of calling ATT monday to pick their brains.

I havent tried lately. 2 weeks ago i thought of it. I was out on the lake taking some pics and saw the gps icon in the right hand corner flashing. I never checked to see if the coordinates were saved in the pic's tags yet. Gotta leave soon or I would check.

I'll get back to you on it.
