I thought for sure this would come up in a search, but "battery door" and "battery cover" both yielded nothing.

I have a hell of a time getting the battery cover off my phone. My wife and I got Impressions on Saturday, and I usually have to struggle with it for at least 2-3 minutes before I can finally get it off. Thoughts? All I'm supposed to do is slide it off with friction, right? Maybe I need something grippy to give me a hand.

Thanks guys. Love this phone!

I turn my phone off and lay the phone flat in my one hand and lay my other hand on the back of the phone flat and slide it right off.

But why would you need to keep removing battery cover?

It's not sliding right off. I've found now that if I can manage to apply even pressure along the full length, that seems to be what it takes.

As for why I'm removing it, I'm at work playing with video compression settings and I don't have a usb cable, but I do have a MicroSD reader, so I'm swapping the card back and forth a lot.

didnt one come with the phone when you bought it? and second of all if you keep doing that a lot you could break or eventually the cover will not want to go back on tight so i would recommend buying one they are not that expensive if you find the right store online or even try ebay.

i got one for free b/c the sprint store right next to me throws all of the accesories away when someone returns their phone so when i go to throw away the trash at my work i usually look in the dumpster to see if there is anything good within reaching distance someone got 5 bluetooth headsets one time and one of them was a jawbone

Thanks, goat. But I was ambiguous with my wording. "I don't have a USB cable" sounds like I don't actually own one. But I did indeed mean that it was at home.

In other news, there are now three posts discussing the fact that I didn't have a USB cable at work.  Lips sealed

Get a $10.00 Bluetooth USB adapter. No constant unplugging of wires or risk of damaging battery cover. If PC probably need drivers, Mac has drivers already in.

You will find out with this phone that you will need a usb cable.

USB or Blue Tooth. Both work great. For pics and MP3's I use Blue Tooth so I don't have to mess around with cables.

If you and the wife each got an impression, why not take one cable to work and leave the other home?
As for BT connections, my even cheaper than 10$ usb bluetooth dongle (love that word) works great for transfering files. Picked it up at my favorite cheap hong kong supplier.

I ordered this Bluetooth USB dongle adapter the other day.  Should take about 2-3 weeks to get here.

Yeah the usb cable is totally worth the buy, but in the mean time try this to take off the cover. When trying to open it, but one of your thumbs on the back where it say "3.0 MEGA" right under the camera and your other thumb on the arrow pointing down near the bottom of the phone.
