A friend of mine got an A877 and within a week, it slided off his car armrest right into his cup of coffee Sad.... I (I mean he) took out the SIM and battery and shook out all the coffee. He turned it on and it came up with some blue bootrom screern. Bummer Sad

Left the phone opened and placed it in the window sill for 3 days, hoping the Spring sun would further dry it out. Sure enough, put battery back in and it works fine Smiley

Only prob is that the battery life is only 1 day, have to charge every night. Bought new battery but it still has 1 day life.

I assume it still has a moisture issue. Heard you can bury your phone in rice to absorb any leftover moisture. Anyone ever tried this?

First mistake your friend shook it off and turned it back on.

Yes the best solution is to stick it in a bag of rice for bout a week or 2 and the rice will absorb the water or coffee in your situation. Wont know if it will fix your battery soltuon or not since you turned on your phone while it was still wet.

My daughter just dumped hers in the pool last week.
I quickly took out the battery and sim, shook the water out, then let it sit on a towel for a few hours.  Then took a hair dryer on low.  Then let it sit over night.  Phone powered up.

I did notice that the battery has a moisture dot now, like the phone.  It is red too.
Lithium batteries can have circuitry in them to report charging levels.  Maybe yours shorted out?

wow thought my daughter was the only one to ever put her Impression in a cup of coffee, she let it sit in the cup for like 5 minutes(it was dark and in the car cupholder lol).. That being said, we pulled the battery & sim card, dried it out as good as possible with a hair dryer(on low/med heat) then put it in a bag of rice for a day or two and walla it worked.... With three teenage girls I've done this trick multiple times Smiley
