Well fellas after dealing with this phone for a year and a half, I am happy to say I wont have to deal with it anymore. This phone started out good, with lots of potential and features, but the honeymoon didnt last long. There was the texting issue, the lack of support from Samsung. Then my wifes phone started biting the dust, the screen woud go blank, buttons wouldnt work, and the only way she could talk on it was to use the speakerphone. I bought a new flex cable for hers but have not gotten around to installing it, as she was given an Iphone 3G from a friend. My phone problems were not quite that severe, my biggest issue was occasionally the buttons on the qwerty keyboard just wouldnt work, sometimes for no reason it would simply reboot. I do have one positive thing to say, the battery life was very good, I can get almost a week, if I dont spend too much time on the internet. In fact I was amazed that the battery life is still good to this day. So if anybody is looking for a couple of impressions to screw with, mine is for the most part a functioning phone with occasional issues noted above, and I think hers just needs the flex cable replaced. If anyone wants them, make me an offer for the phones and flex cable. I cant imagine shipping costing too much. I enjoyed this forum, there was some fantastic how to stuff, the GPS Google maps was a lifesaver, and you guys were all very helpful. Too bad the phone couldn't have been better.

lol, "after a year and a half"...umm, I doubt there is a phone on the market that can RELIABLY be expected to last that long.  My teens chew through phones in one year.  My wife and I get 18-24 months.
They just aren't made to last long no matter how much you spend. Still got em? I'll give ya $20 for em.

I suppose it depends on the phone, this one had problems a month in and they only got worse. The only problem I had ever had with any phone in the past was the battery would eventually not hold a charge, I gave this one kudos for the battery lasting. I have been putting up with issues on mine, but nobody wants to listen to their wife constantly complain about their phone crapping out. Yeah, a year and half, a year and a half of problems. I can see teens going thru phones, mine are constantly dropping theirs, but an adult that takes care of one, it should last. I am quite sure there are plenty of phones that reliably last longer, I know people that have had blackberrys for a long time, and I know its a no frills phone but my Razr worked perfect for two years when I upgraded(?) to the impression. You may not expect more, but I guess I do. These things aren't cheap, and if I only get a year or two out of them, that seems unacceptable to me. I think samsung lures you in with flash and pizazz, but I wont buy another phone from them. Even the guy at AT&T I talked to said they have a lot of complaints with their phones.

Samsung has some great quality phones on the market and many on this sight have had great experiences with the Impression, and yes many have had to deal with issues.  As with any electrical devise, issues will occur.  Good luck with your next phone.

I am sure they do, and it wasn't my intention to come on here and trash this phone. I mainly wanted to say I appreciated the site and all the help I have gotten from it. Sorry if it turned negative.

I loved the impression.  It was the best non smartphone out there in my opinion.  But I never had the issues others had. But I can speak about samsung phones.  I will never own another.  Their phones are usually buggier than any other company out there.  Updates and upgrades for phones are almost impossible to get.  Instead of correcting issues with their phones they use excuses and just release newer buggier phones.  Their track record speaks for itself.
