well, less than 3 weeks after getting my replacement impression it seems they sent me another jacked phone. as of today i can not make or receive calls. talked to att for an hour and they tested everything to no avail. earlier i sent a text, 2 hours later i got one back that had been sent immediately. all call s dial then just end. when my phone is called it rings on the callers end but not mine. im highly frustrated here to say the least. also now it wont even text.
i swapped out my sim card to wifes phone and its good, sooo.
i may be looking at the captivate and just telling me to give me one of those.

well..i had my conversation with att. i told them if they couldnt send me a phone that worked they need to send a different kind. they balked at that so i went through 3 levels of supervisors only to get th e same answer. i was pissed and they knew it but in no way was i rude.
the tech i talked to knocked off 35 dollars off my bill for a new sim card sonce we dont have an att outlet here in my town...he told me also if i wanted to check if sim worked to swap out in a different phone....sim is good. customer care also knocked off 80.00 off my bill for being without service for a week.
heres the kicker......all of a sudden today my phone rings!!!! then i tried calling the wife and low and behold, my phone dials out. whats up with this?Huh
anyhow, ill send this one back and tomorrow ill be on my 3rd impression since june. i just hope this one works as i love the phone when working as it should.

well if you do get a new phone the captivate is an awsome phone and look forward to seeing you on that forum Smiley

i would like to say that it is a cell tower issue but if your wife has att as well and she could make calls then its not

also i know that if you trade your phone in so many times they will give you an option for getting the same phone again or a new phone (of their choice)

all is well with this new one so far. i really hope it lasts a long time as i love the phone when it works as its made to work.
att said if it happens again that they will replace it to a different phone that will be equal or higher in price...never lower. if thats the case then isnt impression about the most expensive non smart phone made???

well it depends on what att describes as "expensive" i paid $200 for the phone while most people who are now getting the phone are paying $50. So is att when they "upgrade" you are they giving you a more expensive phone by the non contract commitment pricing or what you paid for it in the contract pricing

as for being the most expensive non smart phone made i wouldnt know about that

when i upgraded in june i did alot of research on phones. i would go to my account and hit upgrade and see all the phones they had available, even though my upgrade was weeks away. my wife just upgraded last week so again i did the same thing. the impression runs 329.00 for the phone both times. by the way she got the pantech link. her first phone other than a cheap flip phone and i had to twist her arm to do that,lol.
