If a memory card is full, does it use more battery power?  My wife and i both have the impression with 8gb memory cards.  Her battery doesn't last nearly as long as mine.  Is this a result from listening to music more than i? or, Is the memory card bad and in need of formatting or replacing.  I wouldn't think her battery is having problems...we have only had the phones for a little over a month.

thanks in advance,

It should have nothing to do with the memory. Except if the card is full, it might have longer access times reading the card for the music.

I know my battery doesnt last long. Sometimes I have to charge my phone a couple times a day. But I am constantly using it and when the screen is on or its accessing the bluetooth it drains power quick. You can tell by how warm it gets.  Phones got bigger and now use more power but the battery didnt grow much in size. I would actually like to see a larger battery even if it makes the phone thicker.

But since you have 2 phones maybe you could test them side by side by charging them all the way up and starting up music or yellowpages.com app if you have unlimited data and see which ones goes dead first by just leaving them run. Or you could try switching batteries to see if a battery is weaker.

charging them all the way up

You should do this first, but let the phone die all the way, then care it to full.  This should help extend the battery life of your phone.

I'm with Agoatamer on this one: the memory card shouldnt affect battery life....

You could always swap eachother's batteries and see how long they last, just to eliminate that as a possibility.

My guess is that maybe she has bluetooth enabled on hers, and you dont? That will suck a lot of life.. Also, maybe your backlight timer is shorter, or she has her screen turned brighter, or she uses the phone more... Texting will also use a lot of power because the screen is on a lot. Good luck

ok..

After replacing the battery..and waiting for a few days, then removing the memory card and waiting,  we found the phone was defective.

Kudos to att for good customer service.  We are on vacation in Florida and they arranged to deliver a replacement phone to a local att store.

Also, an aside... i am using the impression as a modem right now.  I connected it using info i got from this website.  Beats the heck outta paying $10/hr via resort internet.

Yeah but amount isnt everything. They know when you are tethering and when you are using the data on your phone. It shows up on their system I am sure.
