Hey everyone, i have been browsing this forum for a while.

I wanted to see if i could be of any use to you. You see, my stepmom works as an engineer for AT&T and she is one of the few people in the country that get to test the phones before they come out to the market. Thus i have an impression with a firmware that is most likely different than most.

My software version is: A877UCHL2

Not only that, my icons are different, my calendar is different and some minor other visual things are different.

I didnt know if this would help out at all.

I also have a pre-released Eternity, pre-released LG Vu, 2 market LG Xenons, a pre-release motorola RAZR2 V9x

Can i be of any help?

That is definitely a pre released version. LOL. Does she have enough pull to get the firmware for the newest version?

So how buggy is your version?

Well, she would have the ability to get the newest firmware, since it is her job to test it for bugs. However, i am not even supossed to let people know i am using the phone, and she wouldnt let me have the firmware (sorry guys) i dont live with my parents anymore (moved out  4 months ago when i started college) so i couldnt even try to "borrow" it from her computer.

Its really buggy... I have to restart the phone or pull out the battery at least once per day.... The texting bug (suppossedly most people have that) is probably the number one reason why i have to restart it though.

I havent played with a market impression so i dont know that many differences. Is there anything i can help with since i have this phone though?

Hmm, the problems you have listed do sound quite buggy. Anyhow, speaking of firmware... My phone says "A877UCID3." I assume this is still the latest and most up to date version indeed? I got my phone in early September.

lol i'm not worried about the bugs. I still love the phone (although the texting bug is a tad annoying)

What i really want to know though, is there anything i can do to help out the community since i have a pre-release firmware?

For example. PSP's with firmware 1.0 and 1.5 (when they first came out) were easily hack-able. Now the newer firmwares are harder (not impossible, but harder)

So is this worth anything to the people here? or is the only benefit to having it is that i can say "I had it before it was cool"?

Whether your firmware is beneficial to us is unknown. We know nothing about it. Not sure if it could help us at all. We cant transfer firmwares. So unless you can see something then I dont know what to tell you.

nooooo  Cry well u know the holidays are coming... if ur going over there maybe you could ask her if you could update your firmware... Grin or maybe even accidentaly upload it to a site like samsung-impression.org while trying to update it Roll Eyes

even if you dont have the newest maybe you should look through the internals, maybe their is a way to pull the firmware you are on out of the phone since it is a pre-realease beta test phone? Is your internals any different then ours like can you get in with our internals password? Are there any different menu's or lists that we might not have?
