i didn't even realize we were supposed to get e mail alerts. i decided to register my phone with samsung the other day, and the confirmation email they sent me showed up with a message alert. so only one of the hundreds of email had an alert, and it was from samgung Shocked hmmmm. was that a coincidence?

You have to turn email alerts on with mobile email. Only works with certain email accounts.

After spending an hour on the phone and another 90 mins inside the at&t store, i was able to get a warranty replacement due to the email alerts issue.  I'm still only getting them sporadically. 

Oh well, I'm sticking with this phone as they all seem to do it and I really don't want another model.  I love my Impression!  Plus I've already spent time recustomizing it.

Haven't had it long enough to see if it has the text messaging issue.  I'm sure it will pop up before long.
