Making sure, that there is no Wifi on this phone? I did not know since it had bluetooth if you could connect to another bluetooth which has internet access. And there is no other way to really use apps unless you have the unlimited plan?

-You are correct the phone has no wifi

-About the blue tooth, usually you can only do that with a bluetooth manager (The process what you are talking about is DUN), which only comes in smart phones specifically windows Mobile.

-You can install application without a data plan...But  most of the good applications require a dataplan (besides bantams) and The games aren't really worth it (through tk) if you have nothing to do.

I highly suggest you get a data plan if you can afford it you'll never look back, and you can install games very easily.

There is no way to get internet on your phone using bluetooth. Reverse tethering is not possible at the moment.

i thought someone got hiisi working on a similar phone?
what we need is a client side java app to configure the settings for us, maybe allow us to configure the com ports, but all those other settings are too complicated for the average user.
i think i finally found a legit version of hiisi, so i will be giving it a shot, after i reinstall windows and find tkfe & all that.

Many T-mobile users have proxy's that they go through. Allows them free internet without a data plan. I'm not sure how it works but if they are out there for T-mobile I am sure there is something ATT users might be able to use.

being bored and messing around with the bluetooth and network profile settings on both my computer and the phone. I did notice something very strange.

upon purchase of the phone I made a dummy connection profile to prevent the accidental access of DATA. I set all the apps/games/browsers/messengers to use this dummy profile.

cable modem with a wireless router, hard-ethernet cable connected desktop running windows xp sp2 with a usb bluetooth dongle. using the bluetooth software which came with the dongle I was able to create what is called a bluetooth network or bluetooth wireless LAN. It created a proxy IP and asubnet mask. The bluetooth network was shown next to my router connection in the network connections.

right clicked on the bluetooth network went to properties to adjust advanced settings of the network. clicked to allow internet connection sharing. clicked on settings which allows to select allowed services of the server. allowed FTP server HTTPS,TCP and HTTP.

On my phone Settings/Connectivity/Network profiles. Created a profile BT. Auth Type None, set standard homepage (ie yahoo, google) Protocol HTTP, for the proxy address I used what was given to me then the bluetooth network was enabled and authenticated which was shown in the details section of the network connections when bluetooth network is highlighted mine was 169.254.88.206 in advance settings ticked static IP and set local phone IP to the same address as above.

the strange thing was that instead of getting connection failed with the Dummy profile the BT profile when attempting to browse actually said service unavaliable. thus leading me to believe that maybe bluetooth internet can be achieved that I might have had my settings incorrect.

I could be totally off the beaten path with this or on to something. maybe someone who knows more about this then I do could give my experiment a try. as im a NOOOOOOOOOOB
