Ok when I got my phone it also shipped with a new sim card.  My old sim card worked in it but it is a little over 2 years old.  I just wondering if there would be any difference between the two cards.

No thats not what it is there for. If you buy from ATT and some other places you dont get a simcard. Other third party places do include a simcard to take to ATT and get programmed. The one in your phone is fine and will do the same thing as the new one. As I said I am still using a cingular card.

ok cool thanks.  So that mean I don't need to even get it activated and pay the activation fees then.  I wasn't sure if that sim card would casue me to get better signals or not.  My older sims card is also 3g I believe so don't have to worry about that.  Thanks for the help

Save it just in case something happens to the one you have now. ATT is supposed to charge $25 for replacement sims.
