I was messing around on the Eternity site and was too tired, and mixed up the lines of a listing of codes and typed in the FULL reset.  I'm an idiot.  So I rebuilt my network profiles, and even though they are exactly right, the browser isn't happy with them.  (I'm guessing SMS, IM and text won't work either).

Do I need to call up AT&T and they will send my data setup back to my phone?  Do you think I'll have to drop my phone off at a AT&T store?   Or, is there something I can do in the less embarrassing privacy of my own home Wink

thanks.

Hmmmm, guess I dont have to tell you, you should be more careful in the service menu.  Roll Eyes Did you do the reset in the service menu or the one you type in the dial pad? If you did the *27676*3855# reset everything should be fine as I just did mine the other day also. But yes everything will be lost. But your network settings should not have changed.

FWIW texting still works... without a connectivity profile, heh.  I fear then that the Internet issue is more deep seated than just the profile, doh.

Yep that's the one.  Hmmm...  Afterwards, I had no connectivity profiles, not even the uneditable ones.  Creating them by hand was no help.

Did you go to settings/applications/browser/browser profiles? Medianet should be ticked. Then click on the 'medianet' word. Is your info still there? Or were you one that changed your home page?

Yeah did all that, and then some... and then I figured it out.  Pouring more embarrassment on my self probably, I'll share in the interest of posterity Wink

I went back to the list of codes and went through, in particular, the handful of codes I had used.   I remember how my eyes bulged in delight when I saw all of these "unlock" codes, and stupidly thought to myself, "OH, 'unlock' always means 'good'!"  Wrong.   The culprit was

#7465625*28638# Auto Network lock deactivated

I was able to reactive this by doing this:

*7465625*28638#

I.e.  '#' means 'off' and '*' means 'on'.    You want this network 'lock'... I'm guessing this is something the OS uses to gives its networking stack key/code for the transport (or similar) layer of their data network

So I turned it 'on' and all's well.

However, something interesting happened... note that I lost all of my connectivity profiles... even the uneditable ones.  I had to create them all by hand and set the browser to use them, etc.  And they are all editable, so I put in the homepage of my choice Smiley   Of course, the MEdia Net widget (on the TouchWiz) still goes to http://device.home  :p

Interesting. When I did the reset all was normal. When you did the network lock it must have erased those codes. As long as you got them all back. I take it you copied them from another phone. If you need any of the settings I would be more than happy to provide you with them. Now be careful with those codes.  Roll Eyes

By the way your link to the codes doesnt work at least for me. Might be a good thing though. I know where they are at.
