Please humor me as I am a newbie to cell phones.  I have UNLIMITED texting on my contract so that I don't worry about the View Minutes messages.

However I know someone that doesn't have UNLIMITED texting so I wonder if they will be charged for each View Minutes request.  Am I right?

Thanks

On AT&T it's most likely. I get charged SMS for viewing # SMS left. Maybe your friend can check his/her minutes by going on the website through the computer instead.

they will not be charged for the view minutes usage it is a service provided by att so that you can check on your usage and make sure u havent gone over on your data, messaging it is a FREE service. When I had 200 txts a month i would use it to make sure that i didnt go over my txts and to see how many i had left and i was NEVER charged

[Agoattamer], is Punisher right?  I don't mean to hurt your feelings, Punisher but I need to have it verified.

Thanks

Thanks for your replies!  I don't want to offend ANYONE if I seem to NOT believe what they are saying.

[Agoattamer], please just say a simple yes to what they have said.

Thanks
Shane

P.S. I want to give my father the accurate information.  Thanks!!

It's free to call them, then you can hear what they say. I'll go find Agoat.

I will investigate and report back. You would think that this would be a free text from ATT. But you never know.

EDIT: So far I found this. Services is free but requires a valid text messaging feature to function.
What does that mean? lol  As long as you are capable it is free? IDK

I did use this feature a few times lately. I viewed my text useage on the internet. They do not show up on my billing. So I would say this is a totally free feature to use.

Thanks Quip & Agoattamer for your help.  I will watch & see if ANY text messages appear on the View my Data messages.

Punisher, I could do that but I don't know how much it would cost and I don't want to have other people pay for something that costs.

It is a good idea though.

Thanks

I just looked again today. It is still not showing up as a billable text. I believe you will be alright.
