So, obviously, we all had to set our clocks back an hour yesterday morning. I had to reboot my phone to make it time sync, which is probably irrelevant.

Anyhow, I had an appointment at 1:00PM today, which my phone was set to remind me about 30 minutes in advance. I was a bit surprised when my alarm went off at 11:30. I checked the calendar, and ALL of my appointments' times have been set back an hour.

Why would it do this? Anyone know of an easy fix? I can re-sync with PC Studio and set it to overwrite, and that may work, but I'm not sure what I may have input on the phone since the last time I synced.

Now, I realize that the Impression is not a "smart" phone, but it does have a pretty robust calendar app whose usefulness is totally negated by this bug.

I agree!  The same thing happened to mine.  I guess I don't understand why samsung wouldn't just put out an update to fix stupid bugs like this... Embarrassed

I've emailed their tech support. As soon as they reply, I'll post it here.

Did this correct all your appointments or are they still an hour off?

Very strange that this issue has not been corrected. The other samsung phones suffer from the same flaw. And they knew about it in the spring.

I can't imagine that it would fix it, but I haven't tried. Frustrating to learn that other phones have the issue.

I went to the AT&T store the day after the time change and the tech there corrected the problem by doing what was list above it worked.  I was glad because I had my work schedule in for the whole next year.  He told me to come back in March when the time changed again.  I asked him to let me know when they fixed the issue.

I rely on the calendar quite a bit, and changed all entries manually.  The problem I see with setting the time zone update to manual is that the time will eventually lag without the automated update.  Also when traveling for example from east coast to west coast, the time zone will not update being set to manual.

This is my first samsung, never had a problem like this with motorolas or nokias.  Times always changed without having to turn phone off, nor did a time change ever affect the calendar!  Read somewhere else that text messages were changed back one hour as well, I can't say whether this happened on mine.

Honestly, I think Samsung is taking the easy way out! Angry

I dont use the calendar but my messages and time is correct. I would be highly upset if I did use the calendar. But it is an issue that needs attention brought to it.

If ATT/samsung dont want to make it right I would keep returning phones till they gave you a good one or something else. Just not much to choose with ATT anymore. T-mobile seems to get the killer phones. But there is an android slider coming to ATT from HTC. Should be released anyday now. Also the new samsung mythic has supposedly been released. Whether or not they fixxed text and time issues in that phone is unknown.

But I ve been with ATT enough years that if I threw a big enough stink they would be giving me an upgrade. Might have to do that anyways to see what they will do.

I did the procedure and it didn't change anything. Then I manually enabled DST and it fixed my appointments, but the time was wrong. So I disabled it again, and my appointments were wrong.

I'd like to know what the AT&T guy did. I guess if I leave DST on and manually change the time back an hour, but that's crap, because then my clock would be out of sync with the towers, and I love having accurate time.

Hi, all. I got my phone the week b4 Thx-giving (note after DST change). I synced my outlook calendar using the Solstice version of PC studio. What's weird is that most of the recurring appts in my Outlook cal (all started way earlier this year) show up on the phone 1 hour early. Individual appts seem to be correct. Also, in the PCS calendar they have the correct time.

THis leads me to believe the phone is doing something wrong with the time-zone field, not PCS.

I had the same problem.  Bought my Impression on Black Friday and synced to Outlook a couple days ago.  Bam! All my recurring appointments are off one hour.  I was afraid to change them on the phone because I thought it might mess up my Outlook appointments and for the other attendees.  However, I just edited one of the appointments on the phone to the correct time.  Re-synced with Outlook and everything's fine.  What a pain.  I'm beginning to think that I should've stayed with a Windows Mobile phone.

I  am having the same problem on my T-Mobile Samsung T669 phone.  I called Samsung and they said it was T-Mobile's problem, I called T-Mobile and they said it was Samsung's problem.  I called Samsung again and they gave me the fix as quoted above.  I told them I wasn't going to do that and that they needed to fix the firmware in their phone or PC Studio software.  I haven't heard back from them so I will be calling them again and complaining.  I suggest that all of you continue to call them until they fix the problem.  After all we paid for a defective product.  Let's make them fix it.

We have been complaining to samsung for years.  If it isn't fixed now, it will never be.
