How To....enable applications to minimize rather than suspend!

I completed the change in the menu, but how do you actually minimize the program?  It still asks me if I want to exit or suspend?  Did I not do it right?

It was on the eternity. ATT decided to turn it off. I definitely think it is much better this way.

The phone displays this error message whenever I am running Opera Mini 5 beta, (version with tabbed browsing) Minimized (I added this from another post) and try to open the following Apps / Games
(which were all downloaded from this forum as well.)

The game/app doesnt load, the only option is to press the hangup/end call button which takes you back to the Games/Apps menu listing.

Here are all the games and apps on my phone, I will list the status of each while Opera is minimized.

amaze GPS
Google maps v2.3.2 - shows loading splash screen and status bar gets stuck midway. After about 2 full mins this error message came up.

Monopoly World - after selecting sound on/off this pops up.

ChessMaster: when the main screen comes up and says Tap here to continue, when i press the screen the game just locks up.

Sonic Unleashed: after gameloft splashscreen the error message at the top of this post is displayed.

Carmen Sandiego: Instant error message from the top of this post. No splash/boot up screen.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09: Goes to a loading screen ( bottom left corner) and hangs. I cancelled it, I expect a similar out of memory message. Plus im getting more frustrated as I type that this is happening.


CarJack4 / GTA 4 Mobile: Loads up fine, Choose New Game, game goes to load, says Pause with a red bar and hangs/ gets stuck there. (waits 60 secs then just exits ..arrGGHH!)

MegaCity Empire: gets stuck on the opening loading screen after the GameLoft splash.( 60secs, exits)

SpiderMan: Instant top of this post error message.

UNO(landscape):Instant top of this post error message

MindGames2:mainscreen with the brain, locks up pressing screen is useless.(60sec exit)

MobileNotepad: loads fine, but typing = nonkeyboard cellphone texting. I had to press the number on the real keyboard until the alpha chars display. This is abnormal.

Tetris: loads with music playing, choose game mode, shows small hourglass in center of screen and hangs (60 secs, cancel)

Hiphop Allstar: stuck on I-play splashscreen. (60, exit)

Bolt Browser: loads just fine but webpages drag the text across the screen until completely incoherent to look at. (Definite problem now!)

Ok I have quite a few more apps and games, but I am tired of typing now and my spirit is a fractured.
I have tried to detail this as best as I could, anticipating some questions I thought may be asked by the GODS of this forum and others.

Recap: my daughter went to play sonic on my phone, got this TOP of this post error message.
All of the above games/apps worked just fine without failure prior to this problem.

I cant recall if i have ever had Opera minimized while using other games/apps. Im sure I have.

Only thing I've done new was downloading the MyCastWeather2 jad and jars. I had some problems with it ( check that post, I added my situation, sorry dont know how to link it.)
This was 1 night ago ( saturday ).

Is anyone Else having this problem?

Ok this is my last post. After doing some further searching. I discovered that its not solely an Opera problem. Sonic for instance still wouldnt work even without Opera in the background or having even opened Opera.

I found another thread with a full factory reset and I did this AFTER doing the general reset holding the FN key + other steps.( see internal memory thread).

So I am back to factory beginnings. I will reload some of the above apps and see what happens.

I just did it, can't wait to see if it works. I think this would make AT&T Social Net a much better ap, because it's really frustrating to have to wait for it to refresh every time you open it.

Close the application with the end call button. It will ask you if you want to exit?. Answers are yes,suspend, and no. If you did the mod then the app will minimize when you hit suspend instead of pause and minimize.

d'oh - I see.  I tried the regular browser and it doesn't give me that option, but I see that the apps do.
