Like dotsr said, it is (in a way) free, but...

Standard data charges apply to open your Inbox and view any messages. A Data package is recommended for cost savings. All Mobile Email alerts are free.

Let me summarize everything posted so far (talking about the answers not the OP's question):

Mobile Email is a free-ish app. You will not be paying a subscription fee to use it. But you need a data plan or you will be charged for a lot of data usage.

Anyone else try this program and actually have it work for them?

So I started up this program and picked my host (bellsouth) and logged in.  It seemed to work, as it opened a page with a few tabs on top including; Inbox, sent, bulk, etc.  I typed up a test email and sent it.  it said it sent, but I never received it at my work email (where I sent the test email to).  I went to the sent tab and it said empty.  When i clicked for it to check for messages, it said it was empty as well, although i have several emails in my inbox for bellsouth when i go online.

I use the mobile email app for my att.net and yahoo.com accounts and i have not had any issues thus far.  When checking for new mail, do you go through the menu button and "Check for mail."  A lot of the time I have noticed it does not auto check when you log in.  Other than that, no issues sending or receiving, sorry Bluecham.

yup. thats how I did it.  Only thing I can think of is that I am, not actually signed into my account.  But it sure is acting like I am, and I think I used the right password!!  I will delete that one and try again.  Thanks.

Ok, so I thought- ATT took over Bellsouth, so I will try the ATT Yahoo platform instead.  Logged in using my bellsouth account and it worked fine.  Does each message count as a text message with this program?  it just downloaded 128 of them onto my phone...!
