So I go through the Settings-->Display and Light-->Widget to set all my desired widgets.  The "event" widget and the media player widget are still there.  Are they permanently on the widget sidebar or is there a way to remove them?  Also, the "event" widget keeps repositioning itself to the top, even though I have repeatedly put it at the bottom, as to not see it since I can't figure out how to rid myself of it.

Those 2 widgets are permanently there. And that annoying event widget always puts itself back on top.

I am not actually sure what that event widget does. But I believe it is the widget that appears on your screen when you have a text message, missed a call, or have an email through mobile email. So it is needed.

Oh i see. I thought it was the "event" widget that is associated with the calender, not for texts/missed calls/etc.  I also did a little test on this matter.  The event widget will stay put until you get a text message, missed call, etc., and then it puts itself back up top again.  I guess the easy fix is to just scroll the widget above where you can see.  Then when you reopen your widget bar it is unnoticeable.

the widget in this discussion is a per-installed widget. can not be downloaded. as of now we are just starting the production and implementation of custom widgets. as a noobie I highly recommend you read as much as possible on this site to learn how to work with the phone and file system.  its important you become  more comfortable with understanding the basics of this phone modding (we are at the infancy  with this phone) we are here to help.

You got my attention here.  i would love to be able to have my memos, tasks, or events from calendar available on the front page of my phone (or in widget land).  any way to do this?

If the Impression event widget works like the Eternity event widget it will works for stuff in the calendar that has an alarm. If you want the Event widget to remind you set the alarm enough prior to the start of the calendar item to be effective.

My take on the Eternity's Event Widget

I have an Eternity and am browsing here because my wife is getting an Impression (the order is in and we are waiting for UPS to drop it off).
