Actually Goat and Kitty confirmed the new version is not affected by the t9 bug...however they never quite got into telling us about any other differences, if any between the two builds.  I dont really know what the firmware will do, but i assume it can be used to bring the phone back to its factory settings, hence making it seem like its fresh out of the box, kinda like a system restore on a computer.  Now if my assumptions are correct, ppl with the old build of the OS might be able to "re-flash" their phones with the firmware of the new OS and that would be the end all of all this t9 bug talk...but as i have been saying i probably dont have any idea of what im talking about =/ lol.  This is just an assumption from some1 who doesnt fully understand the internals of a phone, like some of our other members.

Thanks a ton! I'll definitely be getting this phone now. Were there any other major changes (besides games) that happened as a result of the new build?

Also, how do you check the software build on your phone? I Googled this and searched through the forums but I guess I must not have been searching hard enough.

NOT SURE IF THIS HELPS BUT IMPRESSIONS MANUFACTURED AFTER MAY OF 2009 HAVE THE NEW UPDATE I TOOK MY FRIST IMPRESSION BACK TO THE STORE DUE TO THE TEXTING ISSUES I WAITED TIL THEY GOT A NEW SHIPMENT IN AND MINE WAS MADE IN OCT OF 2009 AND IT SEEMS TO BE OK SO FAR

A little late on the scene, but my Impression has version UCID3.  I only tried once, but so far no problem with the T9 predictive text.

Contact ATT and complain about your phone freezing when using T9 and using that combination of letters.  They will replace your phone.
