Its solid, holds the phone in place. Works well when Im using my gps or going handsfree with bluetooth.  Its been on my windshield for almost 6 months now and hasnt moved. When I first got it i mounted it on my glass coffee table and was using it as a mini laptop.  The arms move apart and stretch up and down. It will accomodate your phone no matter how you put it in. They have those on ebay also. I was worried about the arm being too flexible.
