I found this product online and have ordered one for my phone.  I will offer my review of it as soon as I have it installed.

I like that idea regarding the front membrane. The only problem with the clear case I had before was the dust and dirt that was visible in it. It really diminished how sleek and clean the Impression really is.

I recently purchased a "RUBBER HARD CASE COVER SKIN for Samsung Impression A877" (search ebay and there's a ton of them).

So far I'm not seeing any dirt or dust buildup that's visible. I'm sure there's some under the cover, but it's not visible. And it help to keep it looking sleek. I find that it's easier to reach the "lock" button, and there's a bit more room when using the keyboard.

Cons: The upper right corner of the case sometimes slips off the edge, but the other holders keep it in place securely. Also, when sliding the keyboard out, there can be some additional resistance. I don't use the slider keyboard so it doesn't affect me.

Clear case vs rubber hard case? Rubber wins!

A couple of questions about the hard rubber case:

Does it come with a screen protector built in or is that a separate item?
Is this case like the "flexible" rubber cases for the ipod or is it more like a hard plastic?

The one I have does not come with a screen protector. You need to purchase that separately.

It's not a flexible rubber. It's more of a harder plastic, but has a smooth rubbery feel to it.

I also have a hard plastic/rubber case and love it. It did not come with the screen protector. I bought an invisible shield protector and it is awesome.

Finally getting around to my review of the hard case with the membrane.  Whew! Too much to do during the Holidays!......Anyways.....the case was more or less what I had expected.  A clear hard plastic case with a clear screen protector attached.  The plastic for the screen protector is not the soft silicone type, but rather a plastic that is akin to the plastic that is used in common blister packaged items.  It is attached to the hard plastic that makes up the front piece to the case.  The one I received became detached from the hard case in one corner almost immediately after I installed it. It did not last the week.  Now I have a screen protector that is not attached to the hard case and it allows dust and lint to enter the case and become sandwiched between the screen and the screen protector.  Very annoying!!  As if this wasn't enough, the tiny plastic tabs on the hard case that are supposed to snap onto the phone body to hold the case in place did not all work. Only three of the tabs would snap onto the phone and the last one would not.  That left the lower left corner of the front part of the case loose on the phone body.  Equally annoying!!  The screen protector plastic that was becoming detached from the case kept getting snagged on everything so I just took everything off and went with a regular cut-to-fit screen protector for the time being.  I contacted the people that I purchased the case from and asked them to make good on it and they told me they were presently out of stock and back-ordered.  I figured I would wait and get a replacement with no discrepancies and then give it another chance!
