Hey everyone. I am having a hard time choosing a case for my Impression. Right now, I just have a screen protector for my phone, but wanted to get a case that would protect the back & sides as well (rather than a full body kit protector). I have been browsing through many vendors on Ebay looking for the perfect case. It seems that each type of case has its own pros and cons. I have narrowed it down to three different type of cases (that I have found so far):

* hard snap-on case
* gel/silicone case
* hard case w/ rubber skin (maybe a mix between the above)

There are probably some variants of each mixed as well that I have not listed--hopefully could give some more insight.

For the hard snap-on cases, I've read that they provide maximum protection, but the back and sides of one's phone could be easily scratched as the phone tends to "slide" inside the case? Also heard that for the gel/silicone cases, they give decent protection but attract dust and lint too much? Hmm...not too sure about the hard cases w/ rubbery skin though--anyone know if they are like a mix between the hard snap-on cases and gel/silicone cases, meaning do they BOTH attract dust and have the phone sliding issue as well?

I guess, really could anyone give me some more input on what type of cases are out there, and which one do you all use or prefer?

I was hoping to find a case that would be extremely suitable for the Impression (I have read that some cases can accidentally block buttons or the touchscreen that would make my "impression" experience less pleasing). I guess trying to find one that doesn't screw up the phone too much & matches its slide-out keyboard without affecting it too much, is quite hard. Balance must be the key.

Thanks.

"Please SEARCH first before starting new topics. Thanks."  Do u know what that is?  That is a message put by im assuming Goat in red on the top of the screen when u are about to post something new, so we can limit the total number of threads in the forum, making it easier for ppl to find whatever info they need to find...All i wanted to do with that post was make sure whoever posted that question know, that A. he should search before asking questions, and B. let him know the topic has been discussed time and time again before...I have nothing against ppl asking questions, check my posts, I HAVE ANSWERED MANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS PHONE AND ITS ACCESSORIES...In no way did i tell him "do not ask any questions" i told him to SEARCH...i dont think i did anything wrong, if u do...feel free to report me to any Admin.

^wow, tl;dr.

@OP. i thought your post was well thought out and very clear. i too have been researching and looking at what case to get. ive seen a number of nifty ones that are a sort of hybrid, but they usually dont have any out for the Impression. so all im really seeing are a buncha cheap s****y ones that are a hit or miss as far as quality and fitment goes. is there something out there that is soft on the inside and hard on the outside? or one that doesnt mess the buttons up and has worked fairly well for any of you? pics would be nice. thanks. ill keep searching in the mean time.

I am new today to this forum and disappointed that someone with experience with the products and this forum chooses to put down a question rather than be helpful.  I am in the process of searching first before starting a thread and I was led to this thread first.  The question as posted showed he had searched, noted the pros & cons and shared his notes with all of us.  That was more helpful than the put down artist who says there are many answers already posted but provided no help at all.  Maybe he was having a bad day and prefers to attack others when he is frustrated.

Welcome to the forum bestican. As we appreciate you being here, comments like that will get you no where. As you have just recently joined the forum you have no basis to speak on. We all have our bad days. As this comment you speak on was over a month ago and done and over with, please keep to the topic. That way someone else who searches will find information and not a topic full of badgering. Thankyou.

Not that i believe i need to defend myself or not, but i have a lil point to make...u said u searched for phone cases and this topic came up...so i wonder what would of happened if this topic was never created...what would of happened if none of these how to/which one/where to/etc topics that were already discussed NEVER created?  I can tell u...it would of been a lot easier to find what u are looking for...i am in no way against ppl asking questions, check the forum i have answered my fair share of questions, but all i or anyone else helping at this site ask is that u guys at least try to search, if u cant find anything, then post...just search first, it helps EVERYBODY...there are posts about the silicone case, there are posts about the hard case, there are posts about the invisible cover, heck i have seen posts about covers for the phone that has designs...shoot some1 made a post about how he is going to draw his own design on his case...the only reason those posts are SOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hard to find is because there is all this clutter on the forum...SOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! many ppl join asking questions that's been answered time and time again instead of spending 5 minutes to search...and if the topic u found by searching doesnt answer a specific question, u can ask the question in THAT TOPIC...this way when the next person who searches can find something useful to them, and not have to search through PAGES of clutter.  I have now seen 2 complaints about my post here, but surprisingly i havent seen any from the original person to make a post here.

Hehe...would that "original" person be me?  Grin Well, Damien, I guess you had made your point, so I just accepted the fact that I was informed and would not reply to this thread any further to bring up anymore trouble.

O no im not mad u or anything Kabigon...i was just trying to make a point that we want u guys to search...but ill be honest because im tired of the crying about me being mean ill just let everyone do what they wanna do.  To be honest everything on my phone that i wanna do to it, i already know how to do it, and if i dont know how to do it, i know how to find it, cuz they all have a sticky on them...in all honesty us asking u guys to search really isnt for us, because we know how to do everything on this forum already...we ask u guys to search so new and even some older members will have an easy time finding everything they are looking for.  Also contrary to popular beliefs from some members that have lectured me about this.  WE DO NOT HAVE TO ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS...we answer questions because we like helping ppl out, like my reason is when im home and im bored, i figure why not just sign in for a lil while and help out, and im sure everyone here has their own reasons for helping.

Oh, no worries. No problem at all. I'm fine with everything and anything, hehe. I've learned to take well thought out replies and criticism. I take them with respect and gratitude. I do believe you were right. In making these forums a more manageable place, it would definitely be MUCH EASIER to access (via search functions and whatnot) if threads were not repeated because of people not paying attention. Sometimes people are very fast and curious to post a question...perhaps they are all excited (like I was!). This phone indeed is fantastic. But, I totally understand your view. I guess I was just a bit preemptive in terms of just trying to list all the cases and each of their type. I would say I'm sort of a perfectionist and somewhat anal retentive person, heh. I was thinking if I made a thread that addressed everything at once, it would be a little bit more thorough. But no worries, I probably made it more confusing to people now, lol.  Cheesy

Nevertheless, this forum is amazing as it provides a wealth of information to many users like me and ongoing. The Impression phone itself is just simply amazing. I'm pretty glad that we have some stellar informational stuff here. It's all good.  Smiley
