I am wondering from any of your experiences which case is better: a silicone case, or a hard rubber case. Please help me choose because i am going to buy a case for my impression soon.

I bought an expensive, well $16.95 + 2.95 shipping

"OEM Body Glove Snap On Hard Rubberized Rubber Coated & Clear Plastic Shell
Cover Case for Samsung Impression SGH A877 CRC90991"

I totally love it..!

It comes in two parts that snap on...the back has a good feeling "grippy" hard
rubber back half and the front is a clear plastic snap on, but it looked dorky and
I removed it and left the back half on. It gives the phone a wonderful feel and
adds the need grip for my dry hands. Now it doesn't feel like my phone is going
to slip outta my hands.

I ordered it from... AccessoryOne.com

oh that's good. i always thought silicone was the best because i had previous experiences with hard cases and they kept scratching and got all dusty which i hated for maintenance!!

I know what your saying...I don't like the plastic type either, the one i got is like
the best of both worlds, grippy and firm, Lol

I can't really see a soft silicone case working all that well on something like the Impression. It just wouldn't be able to wrap around the body enough to stay in place with the slider keyboard.

As for hard cases getting scratched, well, better the case than your phone, right? And soft silicone cases are notorious for attracting lint and dust as well.

A friend of mine just got a hard case that works really well. Sorry, don't have a link because she got it from a vendor at a local shopping mall.

I bought a silicone case off eBay and I have one beef with it - it doesn't have a cut out for the charger/headset.  So every night I have to take it off so I can charge my phone.  I'll use it for now until I can find something better.  It helps so much with the "slippery phone" problem.

Well, if it's a soft silicone case, can't you just make your own cut out for the charger?

And how well does it stay on?

Does it interfere with the slider at all?

Pics?

I don't want to cut it because I have the type of luck where I'd ruin it.

It stays on great.  It's easy to take off but stays on. It connects on a track type deal.  It doesn't interfere with the slider at all.  I bought the cse from http://stores.shop.ebay.com/my-gadgetgarage1__W0QQ_armrsZ1 is person on eBay. From the pictures I was totally unsure if the case had actual cut outs for charger/headset but it said it did.  For like $9 bucks I figured I'd take a chance. Hopefully the stores will have something out soon that I like so I can feel and see what I'm buying.

I have a hard rubberized case. The only problem I have with it is that it is difficult to take the back half off. I guess I'm a little paranoid because it seems like I'm gonna pull the phone apart. Besides...I guess it's a good thing that it doesn't come off easily...that means it's better for the phone, right?

Hard rubber case.....I just can't see how a silicon case would stay  on our phone....with the slider feature.  The casing is a bit hard to come off but it does the job well.

The silicone case stays on my Impression just fine. It's on a "track" to it stays together and the keyboard slides out.
