i sent a e-mail to samsung to see if their will be an update for threaded sms and such and they replied saying:
"Thank you for your inquiry. Threaded SMS is not an option for phones/devices that are not Windows Mobile 6.1 and up devices, the type of device that you have is not a Windows mobile device and will not be upgradeable to Threading SMS. If you have any further questions and want to purchase a device that does have Threaded sms then please call AT&T."
Psh, such bullcrap. The Samsung Strive as bloody Threaded Text messaging (albeit, the keyboard is small, and sucks major jerk) - so why the hell wouldn't they put it on a phone that acutally has a keyboard to brag about?
Stupid Hippocrates.
-I had the Pantech Impact for a week, which had awesome threaded texting but I didn't enjoy the clamshell style opening.
-I got the Samsung Strive instead, which has a nice threaded messages layout, and a slider - but the keyboard is tiny, cause it's a vertical slider. (who the hell dubbed the vertical slider a "quick messaging" phone was on some hard crack. Seriously.)
And now, I'm swapping for the Impression, cause my 30 days of "trade till you're happy" deal at my local AT&T place is still going. I first thought about the Solstice, but since I'm coming from an iPhone, I have to take the physical keyboard before the "resistive only" crap that other "touch screen" phones offer.
Anyway, Samsung needs to step up the game, and get threaded texting to the other phones ASAP. I can't freaking believe phone companies aren't making a bigger effort into this. It's a complete joke.
There is no such thing as a phone that has a horizontal physical keyboard, Threaded Texting, and is a slider --- except for the LG Xenon, and LG Neon. Too bad the Xenon isn't for sale anymore from AT&T, and too bad the Neon falls apart in 3 months because it's a peace of junk.
