I've been using the rotate code for opera, gmail and amaze. Google maps doesn't seem to like it with rotate. It would crash when I had rotate on. The only place I've found that doesn't go to the blue screen is in the address bar in opera though. Kinda weird. I think it has something to do with the coding of the app itself. Opera must not make a call to that input screen for the address bar. Seems like it just takes from the keyboard directly.

Unless it's one of these settings:
UseNativeTextButtons: false
UseNativeCommands: false

Haven't quite figured out what they do exactly yet.

Edit: Actually google maps wasn't crashing. I was actually pressing decline apparently. I had to change ReverseSoftkeys to false in the jad. it was swapping the softkeys without changing the text on them. Confusing lol

How did you install google maps? Did you install it from my thread? It doesnt need any modifications done to it. It is already full screen. There is no need to add anything to the jad. Actually you dont even need to goatbreak it. Delete it and reinstall as my thread says and you should have no trouble.

You can add the landscape mod to the jad but that would be it.

I installed the one you posted with the working gps. The only thing I wanted to add was the rotate w/ keyboard setting in the jad. I figured out the problem though. When it was rotating, the softkeys wouldn't remap correctly. I just had to change the reversesoftkeys setting in the jad.

Do you happen to know what the UseNativeTextButtons and UseNativeCommands settings do though?

Yes the qwerty and the virtual qwerty work with opera. Double tap in the text box, scroll down till it says enter symbol, double tap on enter symbol, tap in blue box.

That works... Thanks!

OK, so what exactly did you add to the jad or take away from my original jad to get the landscape to work properly?

I am not sure of those lines of code to what they actually do. I do know that putting in the screen size is actually worthless as I found out it does nothing. Maybe JYG knows. I believe he has done some programming.

I only needed to add the MIDlet-ScreenMode: ROTATE code to your jad. I still can't figure out why my ReverseSoftKeys was set to true, as it wasn't that way in your jad. That's what was causing the problem with rotation on. It would swap the softkey location but not the text. So pressing softkey that said 'accept' was actually the decline button, etc.
