There are more than one Samsung impression phones in this household and both have opera beta 5 fully working.  but for some reason one of the phones now can use the physical slide out keyboard and the other can not.

wondering if anyone else has had this happen with their phones or not?

PMed extensively with "Agoattamer" and still both of us not sure why one does this and the other does not, the one that does do it now did not let me use the physical querty before but it does now.

so please tell me if you can or cannot

thanks

I just tried it and I CAN NOT use the physical keyboard.  Actually if I touch enough buttons I'll get a character on the screen but it's not the character I pressed.

Double tap the fn key and see if you get the same results.

Well, possibly. If you download the version of opera mini using your phone you will get a different version jad than downloading it with your computer first.

The version I have on my phone is a signed version from opera mini's website. It also includes my UA and UA prof.

Below is the exact version on my phone. Thats where i got it. Upload it to waphq and it will install a signed version of opera mini beta. Has rotate for keyboard and is fullscreen.  This is a jad so you must upload it to a site that handles jads like waphq. Then goatbreak it.

this version posted works for me, annoying that an onscreen keyboard shows up no matter what, but still completely useable, and i'll be using this untill something better comes out.

The keyboard can be turned off in the settings with inline editing.

Grin Do you ever read anything or just ask questions? If you want tabbed browsing and full HTML view then I guess its better.

hey Agoattamer thanks for the tip about turning off the onscreen keyboard with doing that to it, now it makes the fn key work without having to do the multi tap. only thing is that you now have to double click past the blue screen to get the keyboard to work

personally im thankful for a forum like this one even if i have to search through things, i make the time between work, sleep, cooking dinner with my wife, unpacking a house, restoring my cars, and many more things i do in a day. so here is a huge thanks to all the people on this website that are here to help each other out with one of the coolest phones i have ever owned. its really up to you if you want the help from the people here, we are all freindly here why not just ask, hell you can private message just about any moderator and ask questions thats what they are here for to help us. you can even pm someone like myself im no genius fully with the phone but i do a lot of the reading to see whats new or what i want to do to my phone to make it better than when i got it. so if you want hit me up with some of your questions about what you would like out of this sight or use the search bar the choice is yours

When using the slideout keyboard in opera mini beta, whenever i hit function or shift, and then the key i want, the text goes into a super fast repeat mode. For example, if I want to type my state, "Wisconsin," if i hit shift then "w," i get wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww until i hit another key. Any ideas?
