I was wondering on how to become a moderator.

Just wondering. I'm a mod on a few other forums, and I know how to process works on those forums. Just wanted to know this forum's "initiation".

in MY mind it includes secret meetings, rituals and sacrifices.  A cool crown you get to wear that no one else gets to see, and there's that special handshake only you guys know.  Oh, and the any-time meetings set up to have one on one time with the president in his oval office... that part is pretty cool. 

There is that whole part of dealing with duplicate questions, redundancies, and people saying the same thing over and over in different ways.  That would be annoying.  (any way to set up widgets to link with my apps- that would be cool...)   

Just my thoughts on the matter... Smiley (yes I am bored at work right now)

I guess mods are here to do housekeeping around the forum (locking useless stuff as an example), keep people in check (not the mothering them, but just reminding them to stay on topic from time to time and stuff like that).

Also, mods help out "newbies". At least, that's what they do on other forums I'm on.

EDIT:
And remove harmful attachments, harmful links, etc.

Helping newbies really has nothing to being a mod. Mods keep the forum organized. Keep topics in the correct section; move them when you need to.  Edit for bad language. Remove spam posts.

All you had to do to be a mod was ask me.  Wink  I took care of it. We now have an ample supply of moderators.
