SUGGESTION BOX: What updates would you like to see on the forum?

I definitely had to see what I was dealing with. I had already read enough warnings not to mess with it. Wasn't about to touch it. I think I'm going print out what I can find so I can study it. Since I haven't been here long, I haven't quite got the hang of the forum but I will.

As I was browsing the forums today, and an idea came into my head. It's prolly dumb because it came from me, but here goes:
As everyone knows all-to-well, big, bright red letters at the top of a reply are "hard" to see (can you see the sarcasim?), causing people to not search before posting. So I thought, to try to help, maybe you could add, at the end of the box where you type your message (replying to a post or creating a new thread), a checkbox that you have to check before being able to post saying something to the effect of "I have searched the forum before posting this thread". I know this won't solve the problem, but do you think it could help even a tiny bit? If I'm just a blubbering idiot by saying this, you can tell me :p

orange I don't think it would even matter if those letters would flash. There will always be those that ignore and ask the same reduntant question anyway.

Bleh, you're right. I understand when people don't know what to call things, but You prolly have some of the url's memorized by now with people asking so many of the same questions

i love this site for all the cool things it has to teach me. I have noticed that in my daily rounds of these fine pages here that in the mobil version formatted by google that there isnt a search bar.......? if you view the page direct you can get one but our phones dont really like looking at pages like that real slow even in full bars 3g.   just a suggestion. man  i love this place

I don't think there is a search bar on the WAP version of this site. Not sure, because I've never been on WAP site with my phone.

Just what exactly was the purpose of saying this ? How did this help anyone ? Let me tell ya something , some people have a lot forums they visit . They log in , check new posts and move on to the next forum . Completely pointless posts like this piss me off . It wastes peoples time . If you have something informative to say , say it , otherwise don't post !!

I thought we had bookmarks. Maybe a good way would be to save the thread as a shortcut on the desktop. Then you can rename it exactly and keep them all in one folder. I will look into the bookmark though.

Any luck with this?  it would be great to mark threads as favorites and have them stored in the My Profile section (or a favorites button at the top of the page) so as to access them from any computer.  I do have a lot saved on my laptop, but that doesn't help with downtime at work...!  Thanks

Ya know, this may sound REALLY stupid and useless, but could we move the search bar to the top-right part of the page?  I was new to the site today and had something to search for, but I had to find the search bar first!  It seems camouflage with the color scheme and the content scattered about in that section of the page.  Make it stick out or move it.
