Oh, boy. Problems. -__-

Hi everyone!

I goatbroke successfully and have maybe 8 or 9 apps (really games) on my phone now (thanks for that most notably to E.Cadro and Agoattamer).

But now PC Studio won't let me connect (but it did before while I was in the process) and neither will TKFE!
PC Studio and TKFE...well...for lack of a better term are: "rejecting" my phone!

I'm running Windows 7 64 bit OS (which was hitherto far from problematic)

Help, please?

And yes, I did use Search...to no avail.

Thanks any/everyone! Cheesy

Edit:
PC Studio (after rebooting the phone and my computer several thousand times) accepts the phone once more.

However, TKFE is as immovable as ever.

"Error: Communication link is lost."

I think it was Agoattamer's TKFE link that I saw it written, but a moderator said something to the effect of "after the first time in TKFE, re-establishing a connection should be no problem."

Edit: Yeah. It was.

I understand that the program is buggy, though, what with the whole "reboot the program" thing when it's overtaxed. It freaked me out, though, when, at one point, I was given the choice to select between COM 3 AND COM 4 while just having my one phone plugged in.

I just need some resolution!

Thanks!

(Note also: I deleted TKFE from my computer and then re-downloaded it to try using it "freshly." Rebooting the computer and phone several times were similarly on my list of attempted fixes.)

Well thanks for the kind words. Make sure PC studio is completely closed before opening tkfe in the bottom right corner of your PC check to make sure PC studio is still not active in your system tray. See if that helps.

Yeah, I'm sure PC Studio is off/not running/disconnected.
Still, the problem persists, I can't connect to TKFE.

Okay I am pretty sure in one of your pm's you had posted a link to the trouble shooting tkfe thread have you tried some of the other suggestions?  Also I always had better success of connecting tkfe while my phone was off. Turn phone off then connect to your PC wait for the bat charger to come up. On phone screen then open tkfe and try to connect.

We have a sticky all about TKFE in the Help Desk section.  And rebooting the phone is in it.  It pays to search and read the stickies.  Wink

...what's a sticky?  Embarrassed
 Grin

If you're referring to this (http://www.samsung-impression.org/samsung-impression-help-desk/dedicated-tk-file-explorer-tkfe-problems-and-hints/), then yes, I already found it and consulted it and its comments prior to asking for help.

And with all due respect Master Agoattamer (I acknowledge your prowess far surpasses mine exponentially):

6)I get an error when trying to connect.

I hate to tell you that this is normal for some. The connection through TKFE is very unstable. Things you can try. Disconnect phone and try again. Reboot your phone and try again. Reboot your phone while connected and try again. Reboot computer.  After connecting phone wait till your screen on phone goes black before hitting connect.  Close TKFE and try again. Its all a matter of timing the first time. Trust me once you get connected the first time it connects everytime after that without any issues.

Perhaps my reading efficiency is questionable, but where in the above does it say: "connect to TKFE with the phone turned off"?

Just saying...

Lol, please don't hate me and refuse to help me ever again... Shocked Grin Lips sealed

Why not use BlueFTP after using TKFE once to install it?

...? Huh ...?!!?!?!?

...heh heh... what's Blue FTP...?

I've just been using this great guide:

in conjunction with running to E.Cadro and Agoattamer when things go wrong (as they often do...)  Cheesy

blueFTP is an app that once installed via tkfe allows you to add games and apps to your phone from your SD card. Check it out here

I assume this method is simpler than TKFE and much less buggy?

Okay!
I'm trying it now.
Just downloaded FTP onto my phone using TKFE (if I understand it correctly, that would be the last time I'm ever going to need TKFE?)

Anyway, I don't know how to put the app on my SD card! Should I have done that using TKFE? I couldn't navigate to it (because I didn't know which one it was...lol and I'm scared of bricking my phone) in the bottom panel that is my phone's memory.

Shouldn't the SD card be its own drive?

for example:
shouldn't I see "Phone (P):" and then whatever letter drive it is like "Card (C):"
?
I don't see mine when using TKFE...
