Hi, Im a new member. I have read mostly everything TKFE files, jad and jar. I have never tried the tkfe files or anything Im scared to get my phone brick. I been  downloading applications on my cell. All the applications download great but have a white box with up, down, and side key pad. No matter what application I used the box is always there. How do I remove the key pad even when I used Opera its there

No such thing of tkfe files. TKFE is a file explorer similiar to windows explorer that allows you to see your phones file system.

My understanding is everything you install has wite box or box with arrows in it? Applications need to be made full screen. You have not read near enough then.

Take a look here
http://www.samsung-impression.org/lg-rumor-tips-and-tricks/making-apps-full-screen/

or better off for opera mini here
http://www.samsung-impression.org/third-party-samsung-impression-software/full-screen-browsers-w-landscape-mode/

All stickies and could have been read if you would have taken the tim to look for it.

trying to load MP3s to my daughter's new birthday present - Samsung Impression, with no success...

does the Solstice version of PC-Studio work for Impression phones?

the PC-Studio SW 1.1.1 recognizes the HW, but cannot access the internal memory... I either get "path not found" or the internal memory menu has no information....

have installed/unstalled PC-Studio... still not working....

is there a newer version of PC-Studio. and does anyone have a link?

many thanks in advance.

pc studio (solstice) does work for the impression

though if you had a micro sd card it would be alot easier to file transfer the songs. all you'll need to do is under connectivity select mass storage to be able to directly access the card.

the internal memory for the impression isnt very big, less than 200 megs i believe, so your not going to put that many songs on the phone.

Media player mode works just like mass storage except it sees the phones internal memory. I would not suggest putting mp3's on the phones internal memory. You only have about 200mb total and that is an average of 40-50 songs. Then you have no more room for phone storage or installed applications.

But make sure your phone is set on samsung pc-studio mode when using pc-studio.

thank for replying noii and agoattamer...   i have set/reset phone to PC-Studio multiple times...

re: getting add'l SD... certainly something to consider down the line... but, I'm not inclined to drop add'l cash for it right now - until the phone can connect at least 1 song.... the phone is less than one-week old, and she can't get one MP3 to connect... makes no sense.....

i'd like to be she can get 5 songs on the phone, b/4 leaping to more memory purchase...

further ideas welomed!  higher version of pc-studio?

I guess the best way to attack this problem is to start from the beginning.  Also you are using the cable that came with the impression? Does it connect to the computer in mass storage and media player mode?

Also I just saw your version of pc-studios and i do not recognize it. That is probably your issue. Uninstall Pc-studios and in your add/remove programs in the control panel, uninstall any thing that starts with samsung.  That will clear out all the wrong drivers.  Then reboot your computer.

Download and install the solstice version from samsung.com here. Do not connect your phone to the computer till pc-studios tells you to.

Now does it connect?

hi agoattamer, finally got a chance to run the set up... unfortunately, the new PC studio version 1.1.2 does not recognize the phone on connect --- most likely it needs device drivers...

could you point me to right drivers?

The correct drivers are included in the pc-studio install. Do you have your phone set on pc-studio mode.

menu/settings/connectivity/select usb mode and put a tick in samsung pc studio and select save.

hi agoattamer... sad to report no success yet... i uninstalled PC studio again, and then re-installed direct from the link you provided...

after it loaded and launched, i waited and waited, but it didn't prompt me to connect the phone....

so, after 10-15mins, attached the phone to the USB cable (phone connectivity set to USB)... but, no connection.... here's the error...

"The device cannot be searched because the driver has not been installed.  To solve this problem, install either PC Studio or the drivers again."

Not sure if this will help, but here's everything listed as "Samsumg" from the current program install/uninstall listing....  (in order, and spelled/capitalized as listed in PC)

SAMSUNG Mobile Composite Device Software
Samsung Mobile Modem Device Software
SAMSUNG Mobile Modem Device Driver Set
SAMSUNG Mobile Modem V2 Software
Samsung Mobile phone USB Driver Software
SAMSUNG Mobile USB Download Drive Software
SAMSUNG Mobile USB Modem 1.0 Software
SAMSUNG Mobile USB Modem Software
Samsung New PC Studio
SAMSUNG SYMBIAN USB Download Driver
SAMSUNG USB Mobile Device Software
SamsungConnectivityCableDriver

ideas and next steps are welcome... please!

thanks for your patience and help
