Is there a way to change the connectivity options so that I can't get internet access and still get multimedia texts and use the installed aim app? I want to do so I can't accidentally get charged for data.

I saw in other posts to turn of the IMS SERVICE to off. My question is does that block using AIM/Windows Live/Yahoo app that comes installed on the phone? I do not understand what that does.

You're best bet is to create a dummy network and point the apps that use internet to that network.  This way, when they try to access the internet accidentally, they won't go anywhere.  And this way, your IM and MMS do not get all messed up by trying to involve ATT to do it for you.

I would recommend you reading this thread for more help.

Don't know anything about the IMS Service option, but someone else might come along with more info on that for you.
