Hi, My Impression screen somehow burned out. You can see that the phone turns on and vibrates when you touch the screen but it is black. Anyway on to my question I am able to hook up to the phone through tkfile and have backed up db2. I think that is where the contacts list resides but I am just guessing. Is this the file I need to replace on the new phone ATT is sending to have my phone book or contacts list on the new phone??
Thanks for any responses!!

Copying that file to another phone will brick it. Never copy that file to another phone or edit it in anyways. Hopefully you backed your contacts up to the sim card.

If the phone is in pc-studio mode you can use the solstices version to copy them off of your phone.  People are told to backup ahead of time. You never know what will happen.

Hi, Thanks for the reply and the advice preventing me from bricking my phone!! I believe my phone is in pc-studio mode in that i can see it in my version of pc-studio but I do not see any way to back up the contacts list so I must have the wrong version of pc-studio. I did not back up the contacts to the sim card (i am kind of a phone user with limited skills and knowledge). I will look for the pc-studio for the solstice. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated. Do you think the device at the att store could transfer the contacts?? Thanks again Ken

No, ATT cant back them up for you. Install the solstice version. Uninstall your version and all of the samsung drivers and reboot. Then install new version.

Hi Agoattamer, I did what you said and when it hooks up to pc studio all that shows is the samsung mobile modem. I have had this phone hooked up before but I remember that I had to shut off the bluetooth. I am sure the bluetooth is on as I use it all the time. Am I screwed as far as getting the contacts off this phone?? is it possible to turn off the bluetooth?? Thanks Ken, I really appreciate the help!!

Not that I know of. I do know when you plug your phone it says bluetooth is on do you want to turn it off?  Maybe you can hit the enter key on slider and it will work.

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I thought of something on the way to work this morning, The sim card is in my backup phone and that could also be causing issues! I will try it again tonight.
