Q: Why is the Samsung Impression not considered a smart phone?
A: Smart phones generally run the following of OS; Android, Windows, Symbian. These types of operating systems use more data and intensive programs. Generally smart phones are constantly connected to the internet. For example email is constantly connected. The Impression is considered to be a full feature phone.
Q: What are those two little dots on the top of the screen for?
A: They are light and proximity sensors. When you are talking to someone with the phone up against your ear it makes the phone go black and when you pull the phone away from your ear it makes it turn back on.
Q: My phone is stuck at the At&t logo screen and will not start up completely.
A: This probably means you have bricked your phone. This may have happened because of messing around with the internals of the phone. Currently we now have the firmware for the Impression so you can reflash it yourself. Or if your phone is still under warranty have it replaced.
How to flash the impression Q: When texting the letters on my screen come up slower than what I am typing.
A: This is due to the keypad tone
-To disable the keypad tone goto
Menu->Settings->Sound Profile->Normal(or whatever profile you use)->Phone(On top of the screen should read Call press the down arrow and hit phone)-> Keypad Tone (Select mute)
Q: Are there any free gps programs out there?
A: YES! There are a bunch of free gps programs out there. Some that require data and some that do not.
-Amaze(Req. Data), MGmaps, WeTravel, Google Maps(Req. Data)
Q: Are there any other browsers than Media Net?
A: YES! There are better browsers out there than Media Net.
-Bolt, Opera. But they are not meant to replace Media Net. Media Net is still needed for installing games/apps and streaming media.

A: Agoattamer has provided many applications for the Impression. This is not a complete list but a list of the better applications. The applications use a jad and a jar to install and should be installed with the TKFE with master key install method. For a list of the applications follow this link:
Applications for the ImpressionQ: Do games/apps use data?
A: Yes and No. Games generally do not require data usage. Depending on which app you are using depends on if it uses data, GPS programs most of the time require data usage to download maps while apps like Noteable do not since there is no reason for them to connect. Programs will usually tell you if they require data usage.
Q: How do I delete locked applications on my phone?
A: Locked applications can be deleted on your phone but it is a risky process and may brick your phone. Please proceed at your own risk! You can read how to delete locked applications on your phone by following this link:

How to Add WidgetsQ: Can I delete widgets that I add to my phone?
A: YES! You can delete widgets that you add to your phone. Be careful though when you go to delete the widgets you will delete all of them and have to install all of the ones that you want again. For more info follow this link:

A: This is a bug in all of the Impressions and as right now there is no way to fix it.
Q: When my phone is locked, can I change what pictures show up for the screen saver?
A: As of right now there is no possible way of changing the screensaver pictures.
Q: Why is there two of all of my contacts in my address book?
A: This is due to the fact that your phone is showing all of the contacts in your SIM card and your phone memory. You can change the settings to show either SIM card contacts or phone contacts.
Q:Can the Impression camera zoom?
A: YES! The camera is able to zoom but cannot zoom in 3mp mode.
Q:I am only hearing the left channel of my music with the speakers!
A: For some reason the developers of the Impression decided to leave out the right channel of sound while listening with the speakers.
Q: Does the Impression have themes?
A: Sorry the Impression does not support themes
Q: How do I block a number from calling me?
A: To block a number from calling you all that you have to do is: Menu>Settings>Calls>General>Auto Reject
Enter in the number from there and the number will now be blocked
Q: Does the built in IM feature of the phone use data?
A: No the built in IM feature of the phone does not use data. It does though require data to connect but you will not be charged for it.
If you decide to use a third-party IM application you will be charged for data usage.
Q:My texts are too small/big, how do I change the size of the fonts?
A:When viewing a text message that was sent to your phone you are able to change the size of the text depending on what you like. Changing the size of the text is very easy, viewing the front of the phone while holding it vertical there is a a rocker on the side of the phone when in a text message press up to make it bigger and press down to make it smaller.
