Ok.  First let me just say my mood right now is  Angry

I also searched this forum using the keywords in my Subject title and didn't find any answers - kind of strange that no one else has these problems with their phone.

My Impression worked great the first 5 or 6 months.  I would occasionally get the "Connection failed.  Try again?" message while browsing the internet with the default browser, or any other browser.  But for the last 6 months,  almost every time I type in a URL directly or using the search button (any browser), I get the "Connection failed.  Try again?" error.  I then hit the Yes (to try again) button and it usually connects on the second try.  Ok, I could live with that little annoyance, but why should I have to?!!!

My bigger complaint is 50% of the time a page won't load correctly and I get the error message: Page too large.  May not display correctly.  WTF.  (still angry!)  This with any browser: Att.net, Bolt, Opera Mini or the default Att browser - it doesn't matter.  So most of the page doesn't load and won't work.  Also this with just text alone, or with text and pictures.  Almost any site I use that has more than about 6 pictures on the page, only the first 6 or so load and then I either get the "place holder" box or an error message that says "did not load to free up memory".

I know someone can give me a solution to these problems and it's probably pretty simple but I've got a sledgehammer and I'm not afraid to use it!  JK.

Mine takes a couple tries to connect also. It bugs me, but I never thought of asking on the forum, I always thought it must be just my connection to the network or something.

Just a few guesses to think about..

Have you messed with settings for data like 3G to only GSM?
Might be that damn proxy. Make a new network profile just like medianet without the proxy and point your browser at it and see how that works.

Well, I haven't changed my data settings that I know of but I'll check it out later.  I did make a new browser profile without the proxy address and I haven't had the "connection failed" error message since.  So thanks Agoat for that.  Still get the "page too large, contents may not display correctly" error ALOT.  Seems like a memory issue but I have a 2 gig memory card installed.  But since it's a phone it may not increase working memory like a computer would?

the memory card doesn't have anything to do with the "page too large" because the memory it uses up iis from the phone...so  maybe using opera mini or bolt will help you out to stop getting the "Page too large"...they work kind of like little computers and show htmls better than the normal web  browser

Yea, i figured as much.  I was hoping the micro card could be used to supply virtual memory when needed.  Another short comming.  I've tried bolt as well as mini opera but still have the same issues.  I'll just have to be content with it until I can figure out a solution.  Thanks for the replies and the solution to remove the proxy address issue!
