Hi all,

I stumbled on this forum quite by chance yesterday and I must confess: you guys are awesome. I've learnt more about my Impression in less than two days than I ever did in all the time I've had it. Big ups!

Well, like I always say, "nothing ventured, nothing gained". I've ventured, and I've gained a broken phone. I read in one of the threads about using the master key and I used it to install Opera Mini. It worked just fine but instead of leaving the damn thing alone, I started trying out all the other settings. There was one particular setting-can't remember which-that showed "updating.." on the screen, after which the phone rebooted.

My problem now is that after rebooting, the alarm keeps going off at about 5 mins interval with AppData900.. showing as a scheduled event. This goes on continuously in a loop. that is not all. My phone book, inbox, outbox, drafts, tasks, memo, calendar and call logs are all filled up with junk data. When I check the phone's memory, all these places I mentioned are filled up to capacity. If I delete them, they just fill up again. And on the screen, the word "DEREGI/NONE" is showing, blocking the PC connected and memory card icons. I can't get it out either.

Pls I need some assistance with this problem ASAP. I hope it's not a permanent problem.

As I can't recall how to stop this.....if you can get back into the internals and reverse what you did.  If not there is a sticky on the forum to reflash your phone back to factory condition.

He hit duplicate all records instead of update java db and I do not think you can undo it from the internals but then again I never hit the button so I don't no if there is a sub menu for it  Wink. You could try to just factory reset the phone and if that doesn't work then as Goat said you may need to flash the phone.

Hello,

Please do not contact me about flashing your phone, etc. I am no longer active on this site.

Everyone else is very helpful; make a thread or something. No PMs to me though. Wink

Thanks a lot guys. I really appreciate the help.

I followed the instructions by Agoattamer on reflashing and I'm glad to say that the problem is solved. The phone is now back to normal. Come to think of it E.Cadro, I think I did hi the create all records button in the internals.

I have 2 more issues with my phone that I would appreciate help in solving...again.

1. My bluetooth takes like forever to come on. It will just be showing "Activating Bluetooth...." for a long time. Some days though, I'd be lucky and it would just come on w/out wasting much time. Other time, it won't come on at all .Very frustrating.
2. My phone is constantly on EDGE network even when I'm in 3G coverage area. I read through the posts and saw one with a similar problem. I tried using *#63895# method to change to UMTS but it won't pick any network at all. The phone is unlocked by the way, and I now use another carrier on it.

Thanks again all. Smiley

Not sure on bluetooth issue. I have never heard anything like that before.

The impression is made for ATT which has 3G bands of 850/1900 UMTS.  If you are using the phone with a carrier that does not support those bands like T-mobile in USA and all of Europe you will only get Edge.

I'm using MTN in Nigeria and they have 3,5G network. I use their 3.5G modem to browse on my laptop and it clearly shows "Connected to MTN HSDPA"  when I'm connected.

Thanks.

Only EDGE only Nigeria. The phone doesn't support 3G there.

That sucks! Luckily, I use my laptop for major browsing.

I've been able to solve the Bluetooth connection problem too. I read somewhere in one of the posts where someone else was having similar problems that if you give the devices the same name, there will be issues. Actually, all my devices-including my laptop's Bluetooth device-are named the same. And they've all connected with each other at one time or the other. Well, I just changed the name of the phone and viola! I've not had any problem with it again.
