AH!!! I read back through some threads and discovered a working solution in this one: http://www.samsung-impression.org/index.php?topic=371.0

I turned the phone off and then back on while the USB cable was plugged in. Aftewards, TKFE had no problem connecting. I'll now proceed through the remaining steps. Wish me luck!

I found out another way of finding com port the TKFE connection.

Get PC Studio that installs with your phone.

Install PC Studio First, after install complete do not run, then connect phone through USB.

Run TKFE and try the settings. If no COM showing:

Open up Control Panel
Choose System then choose Device Manager.
Select Modems then Samsung Mobil Modem
Select Advance tabs and you will see the COM number.
Use this as your TkFileExplorer Com.
Simply type in the COM setting.
Also lowering baud rate a little helps too.

This has already been mentioned on how to find the com port. But this doesnt solve the connection problems people have.

You are only telling people how to find the com port.

This may help many that cannot find their com port. You made it sound like this was the answer to all connection problems. Many know their com port but still TKFE refuses to connect. That would be the solution we are all looking for. But this still reminds people where to look for their port.

There is nothing new that I havent posted dozens of times. Reboot pc. Make sure pc studio is closed. Set phone on pc-studio mode. Reboot phone. Wait till screen is idle. Connect cable and wait a few seconds. Start TKFE and check for port. Then connect. If it doesnt then reboot phone while connected and then try and connect again.

THANK YOU!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

Thank You Thank YOU, same thing worked for me! Running Windows XP Uninstalled all PC Studio versions/drivers. Restarted PC. Start clean.

1: Installed Samsung New PC Studio 1.2.1 IH1
Link: http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/SW/200908/20090811225139656/Samsung_NPS_1.2.1.IH1.exe

2.Updated the driver, "driver 3" worked as well. Follow all directions.

3. Download TKFileExplorer

4. Download JadMaker, Convert All Games Using it.

*5.There is nothing new that I havent posted dozens of times. Reboot pc. Make sure pc studio is closed. Set phone on pc-studio mode. Reboot phone. Wait till screen is idle. Connect cable and wait a few seconds. Start TKFE and check for port. Then connect. If it doesnt then reboot phone while connected and then try and connect again.

6. Install JAR and JAD files one by one in each folder.

*Step 5 Is the key to fix "lost connection error"

I summarized everything fast and gave each link I used to get it to work.

The Simpsons, Night at the Museum games worked fine.

I go to Setting/Com and open the window. I go to the port drop down menu and select the only one available. I hit connect and nothing happens. No error message or anything. It just sits there like I didn't do anything and the program seems completely idle. Has this happened to anyone else? Anyone have any suggestions.

Months late, no Replies, sorry. Not sure if you still need help on this.

Does your Phone connect thru PC studio? If it does, a good sign. Close PC Studio, also close out of the task bar. Then maybe try TK Explorer again.
