Samsung Impression - TKFE Not working

Ok, yes i am a noob to the impression, but not to computers and troubleshooting. That said, here is the scenario. Both my wife and i have an impression. Once i followed the steps in these forums, i rather enjoy my impression. However, i can not seem to get my wifes impression to connect to TKFE. I have tried rebooting her phone both with the usb cable connected and without. Also, PC Studio will connect up to her phone and mine just fine. When i connect my phone up to the same computer (This has been tried on multiple computers with the same results) PC Studio and TKFE work just fine. But with hers, ONLY PC Studio work. The error i am getting is that the connection timed out. Any help or further troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

There should be no issue when switching phones. You should be able to connect yours, disconnect from TKFE, plug hers in and connect to TKFE on the same port. TKFE shouldn't be able to tell the 2 devices apart.

Are you sure hers is set on samsung pc studio mode and not on ask? Try rebooting hers and then connect it. I know you probably have already checked and done both of these. When using TKFE does hers show the same port also in TKFE. It should.

Only other thing I can think of is try this. Make sure her phone is in pc-studio mode. Go to the service menu by typing this in like you were making a call. *#197328640#

press 9 for common
press 6 for usb configuration
press 1 for samsung usb
then hit the end key

i apologize, but i will have to get back to you on this. i am currently away for the remainder of the week so i am not able to try your suggestions. But i should be able to respond by saturday at the latest. Thanks again for your quick and informative response.

Sorry for the long delay between posts. I have tried what you stated and i am still unable to get TKFE to connect. I tried copying files off and onto the phone via PC Studio and it is working correctly. I have thought about calling in a stating the model is faulty, but the ledgit applications are working so i don't think i can get away with that option. Any thought are appreciated.

I used the TKFE as well and did not delet the data file as it was stated it did not need to be deleted any more. Now I am trying to add more games and the TKFE prog will not recognize the port my phone is on. I do not have PC Studio on my pc so I have not tried that as it would not connect to my phone before. does the TKFE prog have a limited number of down loads?

PC studio installed the drivers to use TKFE. If you uninstalled pc studio you might have uninstalled needed drivers?

Look in device manager for smasung mobile modem. You can find your com port listed in its properties if the modem is still installed properly. Phone must be connected and in samsung pc studio mode.
