Alright, so I just finished reading the tutorial on how to install and use PC Studio and the TKFE program. The tutorial made it clear that you needed to backup your contacts because they would be deleted, but I'm not sure if this applied because the tutorial had to do with installing games. I'm trying to simply delete the apps using the "How to delete apps safely" thread, and I don't want to have to uninstall my PC Studio just to run TKFE. Can I simply open up TKFE, delete the apps I don't want, and restart my phone without having to do anything else like backing up my contacts?

I don't recall the TKFE install method with the master key say anything about backing up contacts. Are you reading the old method that says in big red letters not to use anymore?

Probably, it is just hard knowing what to follow because even within that post it says something like "Don't use old method, use this one" or something like that, so I wasn't sure if that still applied or not. So it is safe just to open up the TKFE and browse through my phone's files to delete the apps right? I used to have something similar for my Razr a few years back and I did not have to backup anything, that is why I ask.

I am having a lot of issues iwht TKFE. I can get the new PC studio to run, but it doesn't let me access all of the folders on the device. Everytime I try and use TKFE I get a connection link lost error message. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You should only use TKFE to delete the locked apps then update the databases. If apps and games can be deleted by the phone then you should do it this way.

Many topics about TKFE. Try rebooting your phone.

Ok, thanks, I opened up the program and tried to connect to the port that it shows but it isn't the correct one. I unplugged my phone and plugged it back in to see if the TKFE program would find it then but no luck. Any way of getting it to load up?

Who said its not the correct one? Did you get a disconnect error? Try rebooting phone and connecting again. First connection is picky. Might try rebooting pc also.
