I was hoping someone could advise me what I can do to get my touch screen to work - totally will not work - can't get into the menu to recalibrate or anything.  First the calibration was way off even after recalibrating it - now the touch screen wont work.  It is out of warranty (5/09 purchase date) and no insurance on it - any suggestions?  I love my phone!  My daughter has the same one and hers is fine.  When I was able to get into the phone (after hours o fpressing the screen, I did a master reset and also set the calibration) but 10 minutes later it was acting up - I would touch dial "julie" and it would dial "bob"!  Please help or refer me to someone who has had the same problem or someone who can fix it. Tx

I have had two impressions in the last 6 months that the screens have frozen. This should not happen and Samsung should figure it out.

I'm not saying it's your fault, but since most people with this phone haven't had this issue.. Maybe it's because of how you're treating the phone? Food for thought.

would it be the screen itself or the digitizer?

I had the same problem myself and I had to put a digitizer screen in it which is a tedious process that requires complete dissassembly. A repair shop quoted me a $60 repair fee so I did it myself. The screen is about $10 on Ebay Smiley

Glo to menu; settings; phone; calibration and use a stylus to tap the X

I thought you said it was responsive. Are you sure you got all the circuit clips in position and tight when you put it back together?  I had to do mine twice

you are talking about where the digitizer cable plugs in to that little black locking clip right? i got it as far as i could push it in. there is about one mm between the white line on the cable and the clip it goes into. i could not get it pushed in any further than that. i push the black clip straight up and slide the cable in as far as it will go and then lock that black clip down. sound right to you?

you are talking about the flex cable, i already went through having to re-assemble then dis-assemble because of that. that is really snug. i am really confused and frustrated while using this POS lg neon in the meantime. i really like the impression because of all the things i can do with it without having to pay for a smartphone data plan. i just wish i could get it working again.

sounds like you have everything hooked up right. I don't know if I would be of any help on anything further. That's about the extent of my experience with the digitizer. You can pick up a Impression on E-bay for less than 80 bucks

I'm having this same issue, and this is the Third Time

I bought my impression in Aug 2009 and first experienced this problem in December 2009. I sent it into Samsung (warranty) and they reported a touch screen failure. They sent it back and all was working well until April 2010 when again, the touch screen stopped responding. Again, I sent it in and again it came back repaired. Now again, in November 2010 I'm having the same issue this time however, Samsung will not repair it because it's out of warranty, they want me to pay a $70 fee to fix it. I'm very upset that I seem to have this issue every 5-7 months and don't understand what I'm doing to cause it. I have never Dropped my phone and it has never been exposed to water. I carry it around in a leather case and it's in like new condition. I'm confused as to why this keeps happening.

I did some research online and discovered hundreds of others with this problem. I just purchased the digitilizer component on Ebay for $10. I hope to be able to fix it myself. When my 2 year contract is up in Aug 2011 I'm getting rid of this piece of crap. Hopefully I'm able to fix it and that it will last until then.
