My touch screen seems to not work or is really quirky now.  It may just be coincidence, but it seems to have started acting this way right after I once set an alarm... but now I can't get the alarm "logo" to leave my main screen.  Anyone have this problem in the past???

After further testing... it seems the touch screen works, but you have to push the touch screen approx. 1" below the actual space you're trying to hit.  I probably screwed up because I decided to go ahead and do the master reset... so I did that from the keyboard.  As it powered back up, it goes to the screen where you have to push the little white plus sign as it moves around the screen.  The only problem is that with the touch screen not reading properly, when it gets to the bottom, there isn't enough screen left to hit 1" below the square so I'm essentially frozen in my tracks.

If anyone knows how to fix this I'd really appreciate it.  If not I'll either call AT&T or throw this thing in the dumpster and get something else.

Any responses would be appreciated.

If you cant calibrate it anymore then you should call ATT. It is still under warranty.

My touch screen also malfunctioned, and AT&T is indeed replacing the phone under warranty.  The bigger problem now is how to access the data (photos, contacts) to transfer it to the new phone (or a memory card, or a computer).  The guy at the AT&T store tried but couldn't do a single thing without the touch screen working.  Any suggestions?  Any alternative ways to access dozens of lost vacation photos?Huh

If you have the phone in pc-studio mode you can connect and pull, photos, audio, and contacts off of your phone. If you dont then hopefully you have bluetooth turned on and you can use pc-studio that way.

It's a Catch-22...can't get into pc studio or bluetooth without the touch screen....that's why I wondered if there was some sort of work-around to do it another way, via the keyboard or from the computer.

Both those ways use just the computer. That is why it is highly possible you have pc-studio mode set or the bluetooth turned on. Niether needs the touchscreen if already selected.

That's the problem...they weren't selected at the time the screen failed.  It's my daughter's phone and she's devastated to lose all those pictures that hadn't yet been downloaded.

Well something has to be selected. If she had media player mode selected you could do it that way. The only one that wont work for you is if she had mass storage selected.  She should definitely look into getting a memory card in the future and start saving pics that get taken to the memory card.

I am going to look for codes or a way to switch modes. You never know.

I got the exact same prob....touch screen is dead and ATT says nothing they can do without the touch screen. Also called Samsung and they say the same thing. There are some contacts and pics save to G/F's memory card but not all. If she has blue tooth activated could I get the contacts and media and pics via a blue tooth dongle? Worth a try I guess.
