Can you help me please?

I want to transfer the contents of my 8GB microSD card to my NEW 16GB microSD card?

I think that I need to use a SD adapter, a card reader, & my pc.  I think that I need to use my SD adapter & card reader copying the contents of my 8GB microSD card to a folder on my PC and then copy the exact contents to my NEW 16GB microSD card (first I formatted it in my cell phone)?

Thanks Agoattamer.  I appreciate your prompt reply. 

I want to know exactly what is needed to be done so I don't ruin my micro SD cards or my phone.  I also don't want to lose any data. 

I appreciate any other replies given.

You can do exactly what you just said; or connect your phone via usb cord and drag all the SD Card contents to a folder you create on your computer.  Than disconnect, put the new card in your phone and reconnect and transfer the contents in the new folder to the new card.
