I have found a new way to install games and apps without downloading and without using TKFE. It involves using an application that you install on your phone called BlueFTP. This little application can do alot but I have only tested it so far with installing games from the memory card. It is some type of a Bluetooth FTP file explorer for your phone. You can download the jar and jad from below. Now you will have to install it with TKFE or just upload it to rumkin or imserba. You will then have to goatbreak it if you installed it with rumkin or imserba.

The version I put up is version 1.41. It is a paid application but this version doesn't seem to be a demo. It shows no sign of advertising or time limit. Just to let you know. If this version does turn out to be a demo I have other versions that I know have been edited. Wink  This is the second time I posted this if you might have noticed. The first version turned out to be a demo and so did the others. But I finally have a version that will not expire, show adds, or want to update.  Once the newest version becomes available I will post it.

First thing you will have to do is get the jar and jad of the application onto the memory card. Put it in a folder of the same name.  Ex: bolt.jar, bolt.jad in bolt folder.  Just like you would with a TKFE install. At this time you can do multiple installations each in its own folder.

Now start up BlueFTP. Scroll to 'Mmc' and hit 'OK'. Navigate to the game or application folder that you want to install and select 'menu'. Scroll to 'Copy items' and hit 'OK'.  Hit the 'back' button till you get back to the main filesystem. Scroll to the 'MyPrivateM PhotoMy Video....' folder and hit 'OK'.  Should say filesystem and it will be empty at least for the first time. Select 'menu' and scroll to 'Paste items' and hit OK.  Every game/app you install will have its folder now in the filesystem folder.

Now repeat this with any other games/apps you plan on installing. When done exit out of BlueFTP.

Open up your dial pad and enter the following, *#6984125*#

Choose INTERNALS and enter the following, *#3818790*#

Now scroll down and choose Storage Settings. Then update Java DB (evidently we don't need to update the app database to install)

The game or app will be installed and you can go to your games and apps menu to run the app. It will be named in a folder for BlueFTP. You can rename the app without the folder structure if you wish. It will not affect anything. The app/game actually installs in the exe/java/games/BlueFTP/filesystem folder instead of the games folder. But when you rename it without  the folders it actually moves the install to the games folder.  Right where it belongs.

To delete the app just delete the app like you normally would in the games/apps menu with the delete key.

Now you will never have to use TKFE again to install apps/games.

Enjoy

I reccommend making a dummy network profile and pointing this application at it. That way we know for sure it isn't trying to access the internet.  And those without a data plan will be perfectly safe.

After they are installed I would say they are not needed on memory card. So I dont know why not. You could always try it.

I have all my games and apps on my card now so I use copy and paste. Its a great way to keep my whole collection with me.

Just discovered when you rename the application without the folder structure it moves the install to the games folder. Right where it needs to be.  Wink

Ok i understood most of the steps and got the blueFTP installed and i showed on my games and apps but when I clicked on it, it said invalid jar format and didnt load it I downloaded those files but I didn't understand the last steps which were:

I know how to work FTP programs but it does not load up for me if you can then please explain those steps  Smiley

Well those last items are for after you have bluftp installed. If you got an error when running the application then you didnt install correctly.

I searched but couldn't find how to do this.  Do you have a tutorial, or is there one on the Eternity website?
