You don't have a lot of options. How large is the pdf file? Let me know and depending on the size I may have an option for you.

If you have cable at home you are better off waiting till you get home. Go to my stuff folder on phone at bottom click create folder since you don't have a sd card select on phone name pdf files. Then go to settings/connectivity/select usb and select media player and save. Connect to pc when the pop up box comes on pc select take no action. Open my pc and look for qualcom phone and click it then media file you should see 3 folders pictures, video and pdf files open the pdf file and drag your pdf file from your desktop to the folder.

I can name the folder whatever I want, instead of pdf?

Is there a way to do it without anything external just in case I need to do it while I am not home?

Yeah you can name anything you want. If you have opera mini installed on your phone and it is goatbroken you should be able to open your email account with opera and download the attachment. I just tried it with yahoo account and was able to download the pdf attachment that i sent myself. It does not seem to work with the phones netfront browser gave unsuported content when I tried.
update
It also works with bolt browser if goatbroken as well.
