How To Use Rogers WAP on Samsung Impression A877

Please some enlighten me.

Today, after much going back and forth and hearing different things, a sales rep at Fido, a provider aquired by rogers, told me I could sign up for an unlimited browser plan, BUT, that plan is limited to certain content AND because this is not a fido phone, it will not go through the fido "portal" and anything accessed outside the portal will be subject to additional charges. So, the WAP config details I obtained on a cell phone forum posted by a Fido CSR "might" get me access to the internet on the handset, but I will have no benefit from the unlimited browser plan, this might not work, that might not work... what on earth.

Why can no one tell me yes, it will work, or not?
Why is it, I come to them with an unlocked handset, they cannot accomodate me and SELL me a service!?

So, is it going to work, and I mean work in an acceptable manner, for example if I use the above settings for rogers, or is it going to be very limited and expensive on a Canadian GSM network?
