If you're like me, you've had trouble getting TK File Explorer to connect to your Impression after installing PC Studio IB5.  After tinkering with it forever, here's how I finally got it to connect:

1 - Set your phone's USB connection to PC STUDIO.... not "Ask."

2 - Close PC Studio and Monitoring.

3 - Plug your phone into a USB port.  Nothing should happen - no programs should open.

4 - Reboot your Impression while connected.

5 - Start TK File Explorer.  Select correct COM port and set baud rate to 115600, parity 0, stop bits 1, byte size 8.

6 - Connect.  Impression should show up.

7 - Enjoy.

8 - Send me lots of money.   Cheesy

I got TK to work without all that...I started pc studio, connected with the phone, then exited pc studio and started TK. Maybe mine was a fluke...

What do you mean reboot?  Do you mean turn the phone on then off again.

I wish I had read this a bit earlier...would've saved myself a headache. Basically, I stumbled upon the same steps.- except that the settings are set automatically and don't require changing

But alas, I can vouch that this works.

Ok, you have installed pc studio IB5. Is it working for you? Do you have any other drivers in you add/remove in control panel from any previous phones? If you do they need to be uninstalled. Before running TK have minimum programs running or windows open. TKFE is memory intensive and pick as heck. Make sure your phone is on PC-studio and not on ask. Make sure PC-Studio is not running. Start up TKFE. Plug your phone in to the same USB port that you had it plugged in for PC-studio. At this point windows should not come up with new hardware found. But you will hear the sound as if you plugged something in. In TKFE click on setting and then com. Select your port with the drop down arrow. There should only be one to pick from. There is no need to change other settings.  Click OK. Click on File and then connect or the connection icon in TKFE. If its going to connect it will connect right away. If it doesnt and you get the error leave your phone plugged in and turn it off and then back on and try again. If that doesnt work try rebooting your computer. Always leave the phone plugged in. And make sure PC-studio isnt running. Check in task bar also that it is not monitoring.  I always leave my cable plugged into the computer that way the port stays the same. If you change usb ports then the com port will change also.

The first connection is the toughest. Since my cable is plugged in always, I can cionnect to TK in seconds everytime.
