I hope this tutorial will help you and newbies alike. I only made it for Vista, but the Dial-up settings are the same.
:
Enjoy
:
In Vista all you have to do is have the Samsung Mobile Modem drivers installed then:

1.  Click "Connect to..." on the Start Menu.
2.  Select "Setup a connection or network" link near the bottom.
3.  Select "Setup a dial-up connection" near the bottom and click next.
4.  Select SAMSUNG Mobile Modem from the modem list.
(If you haven't already, it will ask you for your area code. Any will do.)
5.  Enter *99# as the "Dial-up phone number" field.
6.  Type a name for the "Connection name" (to tell the dial-up connections apart).
7.  Open the Network Connections window and double click your new connection.
8.  Click Dial, and it will automatically start the registering process.
\Note: the *99# number is all you need, the rest is on the phone's MediaNET settings internally.

Edit: USB is way faster than Bluetooth. Bluetooth transfers data at a rate of 721 Kbps, or less than 1 Mbps. And Bluetooth uses up battery power faster.

Edit: I have recently posted a tip sheet of common problems that may occur when trying to connect to a dial-up connection. You can read it here: http://www.samsung-impression.org/index.php?topic=180.msg15291#msg15291

I am using a USB cable, for those who ask, and I did not have to change or create any network settings on the phone itself. Those were right to begin with.

Anyone have the directions for this using WinXP?  When my data cable is connected to my computer it asks to use the phone as mass storage, etc, which should I choose?  I can't seem to get this to work yet. What Mobile Modem drivers do I install? The ones for the Eternity?

I cannot get these to work, as someone else asked what mode do you put it in? when I just have it charging the comp. doesn't recognize it as anything and the dial up connection setting asks for a username and password. what gives?

I played around and got it to work.  I don't have a wireless connection for my laptop so if I want to go into my bedroom and work on my laptop I can use my Impression to get online.

I used the data/charging cable that came with my Impression.  I installed the drivers and PC Studio for the Eternity phone (go to the Samsung site to get them).  When I plugged it in I chose PC Studio but make sure you don't have PC Studio running. My connection worked without entering a user name and password.  I think it filled in "HP Owner" for the user name (the name of my laptop) by itself.  All I needed was basically the "number to dial" which was *99# as stated in the above post.

I hope that helps someone!

I just connected on my laptop at 230.4 Kbps.  I don't know if that's standard or not.

Damn, I'm jealous, how did you get yours to have such a good connection?  I can surf but I can't download because my connection is so slow.
