Hey i found a couple of 240 x 400 gif wallpapers for the impression, but when i set them as my wallpaper, they appeared as a little rectangle in the middle of the screen. All of my gif pictures show up as this when i set them, even the default animated pic (the one with the thunder), which originally worked until i changed it. My normal wallpapers work fine, it is just the gifs. Am i missing something simple here, or is that just how gifs appear as a wallpaper?

Shouldnt. I have 240x400 gifs and they display perfectly fine. Upload one that you have issues and I will look at it.

I just put the batman one on my phone and it works great as a wallpaper. How are you putting them on your phone? Are you using usb cable and mass storage mode?

Yeah im using a usb cable and the New PC Studio software to drag them from my computer onto the pictures folder. When i first got the phone the thunder gif was the wallpaper and it fit perfectly. Then i changed it to a normal wallpaper. Later when i changed it back to that thunder gif it started appearing as a little rectangle. Now i tried downloading these gifs as well and they all do the same only normal pics fit screen. I am not sure what mass storage mode means.

Instead of putting your phone in samsung-pc studio mode put it in mass storage mode.  Then instead of using pc-studio just click on the my computer or computer icon on your pc depending on what operating system you have. Your phone will now be a removeable hard drive. Click on it and navigate to the pictures folder or where you store your wallpapers and drag the gif from your computer to the folder.

If you dont have a memory card then use media player mode the same way. Except this time you will see a pic of the phone in my computer. Then you can drag it into the phones memory.

Pc-studio might be resizing your gifs. This way is also much quicker.

Ok i did exactly what you said. I downloaded a new batch of wallpapers that i found around these forums. 2 regular jps pics, and 3 gif pics. I put the phone in media player mode and moved them all into the picture folder. First i tried the jpg pics and they worked perfectly, fit the screen fine and everything which gave me hope. Then i tried the gif and the image showed up as a little rectangle in the middle again. I dont know whats wrong, is it something with my settings ? Its funny because when i look at them under the pictures folder in my phone, they come up full screen and everything, once i click on set and go look at the home page, its i little rectangle instead of the full screen. Btw i apreciate the help Agoat.

I am at a loss on this one. I dont know of a setting that controls the size of gifs. All I did was browse to it through mystuff folder and went to the gif and it was fullscreen. I clicked on 'set as' then 'wallpaper' then 'set'. Try making another folder inside the pictures folder and call it backgrounds. Move your gif in there before you set it as a wallpaper.
