Just got my Impression two days ago and I have tried every single driver I could find and no luck at all. I installed this one and it worked the first time and then I tried it again a few hours later and I was back to where I had been before, with no connection. When I open PC Studio a new window pops up titled "FsUsbService64" that tells me "Service Initiali Failed".

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong here?

I have set my phone to Samsung PC Studio Connectivity mode, and installed the driver at the start of this thread on Vista x64 Ultimate. However, everytime I connect my phone it reports Unknown Device. Anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong?

EDIT: Nevermind the problem is caused by a 3rd party USB cord, using the one that came with the phone works.

I got my regular modem drivers recognized. here is what i did.  I went to
control panel, device manager. samsung cdma.
right click and go to properties.
go to update driver.
browse my computer for driver software.
let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer
click have disk
click browse
go to the location where you unzippedusb modem drivers 4.40.7
choose sscdbus from the driver folder

Boy, am I stumped. Last week I got a new notebook, a Samsung R480 running Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit. Per instructions on this forum I got everything running perfect, even got online.

However, I took that notebook back to get the next one up, Samsung R580. It has a bigger screen, better discrete graphics card, better cpu etc. It is running the same OS as the R480. But for the life of me, I can't get the drivers for the Samsung or PC Studio to load???

I've tried everything I've read on this forum, but no go. I've uninstalled & reinstalled PC Studio twice, still the same. I tried many variations installing the usb modem drivers and it refuses to install.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I was hoping to use this to go online on my Alaska Cruise, which leaves today.

I did exactly that with Drivers trying to use is:
MCCI WHQL USB Modem Driver 4.40.7

and the message I got was:

The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is desinged to work with Windows for x64-based systems.

I tried all the different drivers in several folders too.

I spent a good portion of my afternoon trying to successfully install this driver. I'm using Windows 7, 64 bit. It's not working. I've tried many of the suggestions posted already in this thread, but no luck. If anybody is using a 64 bit version of Windows 7, and has gotten the modem driver successfully installed on it, can you please explain what you did? Additional help is much appreciated.

I'd love to be able to answer your question, but I would be more harm than help. Technology isn't a thing I'm good with...

I just recently purchased a HP computer running windows 7 pro 64bit. I downloaded the solstice pc studio from samsung.com. I right clicked the icon and ran as administrator. PC Studio installed without errors. I connected my phone and drivers installed automatically. My impression then showed as connected. This all took under 3 minutes without any hitches.
