Hello, all.  I converted an .avi file using the NPC video converter, set to high quality mp4 video and high quality aac audio, which gave me an .skm file.  I transferred the video file to a miniSD card.  The Impression is finding that video file, but when I choose it, I get an error message "Unsupported file type".   Cry  Any ideas about why the Samsung converter produces a file type that is unsupported on a Samsung phone this program was made for?  Huh  Thanks for any input!!

Well, since no one else is having this problem, nor could give any insight or input on this issue, I tried converting the same file with Sony Image Converter 2 Plus.  The mp4 file that resulted not only played without glitch on the Impression, was, I'm sure, a higher quality image than the Samsung player had produced.  Kind of stupid that I had to use a competitor's program to produce a video file playable on the phone I have.

Have you ever checked the specs of this phone?  I have not heard of this .skm file extension nor has anyone else ever mentioned it. The phone plays mp4 and and .3gp extensions.

I'm going through the same issue and it looks like the root problem is that the video converter software is a giant piece of crap. If you look closely at the settings it appears to suggest it's going to create an .mp4 video for you but it doesn't.

If you use any other video converter and set it to decent .mp4 settings it should play. also if you use the samsung software you should be able to get it to play on your phone by changing the extension from .skm to .mp4

Seriously doesn't anyone check this crap anymore to make sure it works as suggested?
